Sell off the Fire Equipment and box and build a car hauler. Bob

  4. Fix it up. Drive in parades. Hire clowns or Shriners. Done.

That would make a bad ass car hauler.

Man, that's a very serious looking spot light. Probably can hit the top of the 50 story building with that baby.

Cool car hauler please. Great idea to keep wheels. I would leave the monster spotlight too. Do a build thread for whatever you choose. Good luck!

If you have any interest in restoring it, check out your local SPAAMFAA chapter. They might be able to give you some info about the vehicle. It doesn't look like there is much left of the fire equipment. Does it even have a pump or is it just a hose bed.

    Car hauler would be cool.

  11. Paint it wax it and drive it in a parade.

Make a motor home out of it.

Build a really small hot rod to fit on the top where the hoses used to go.

    Geeze its a fire truck.

  12. I don't get the hate and RR comments,,it would make a great hauler or a motor home. HRP

I see no mention of welding a rooster comb to the roof or making some sort of fenderless hodless abortion out of it so I have to make the postulation that someone is trying to impress us with there badassedness.

I can think of lots of things that could be done with it but the end of the day it is a bag ol' fire truck. Anything that I would probably consider would have to be with it being a big hauler.

  14. Beano, probably because they didn't think of it! :D HRP

  15. Well they don't have to now. ;)

  16. ... and you're a HAMB NARC... :D

  17. Sell it to someone who would restore it to it's original use and use the cash on your avitar (if thats your truck). It looks to be very restoreable but it would cost a small fortune to modify it into something else. Just my .02

I'm not a big fan of diesels, but this thing screams for big black smoke. I'd powerwash the heck out of it. Knock all the loose paint and rust off. Strip out the bed to make it actually usable. You might have to take a few leaves out of the springs to make the ride acceptable since it looks like it used to carry pumping equipment.

Strip the FD stuff and sell it to a high end antique/collector shop that specializes in industrial interior design to finance the project. Somebody, somewhere needs a hosegutter to hang on their wall.

Paint it later, but what ever you do, get it on the road and drive it!

This one was at the Barrington, NH truck show a couple of years ago.
Something like it would be quite nice.

Take the cab and nose and put it on a similar year 1/2 ton truck frame and make a cool truck out of it. Nothing wrong with that sheet metal.
