It looks like opening celebrations and the queue waiting to take a drive on a new road perhaps.

So Camaros ran...327" w/283 cranks to equal what a 301?

  15. Rambulance - that is too much! Don't believe I ever knew they existed! Had to be very low production numbers on these.

I say either Anthony Perkins in drag or Richard Simmons.

"General Repair" The second incredible film in the British Railway series.

Thousands of you enjoyed "A Study in Steel" a film all about making a locomotive. Don't miss the second part "General Repair" Where you can see a locomotive totally rebuilt in 12 days. Check it out at The Old Motor.

Gurney-westlake also made heads for the small block Mopar.

But they were NOT used on the Trans Am cars.

It appears they offered this in 1962 as well. I could not find any photos of survivors.

    1958 Edsel Amblewagon.

Through 1959, the Amblewagon could be built on an Edsel Villager, Roundup or Bermuda platform as well as any of the Ford or Mercury wagons. The rarest and most desirable Amblewagon is the 1958-1959 Edsel conversion. It is unknown how many Edsel-Amblewagons were built, but several 1958-59 examples still survive.

Hmm?? Do you know when that ad
was published? I remember it from
"back then" but I can't remember
how long ago "back then" was! My
suspicion at the time was - and still
is - that both the ad agency and the
artist who penned it were probably
    on another kind of "acid"!!!:D

Ha, yeah, no doubt whoever did it got their "inspiration" from outside sources Given the style of the car, I'd guess it's early 50s, pre-'55[/QUOTE]

The art style of that ad is psychedelic in a sense, but the car illustration suggests early 50's.

While LDS did exist then, it wasn't used outside the medical community until Timothy Leary began propagating it in the early sixties. So it's doubtful that agency artists were dropping it in 1952!

The artist was Boris Artzybasheff, and this was typical of his style. He did a series of similar ads for Shell in the early 50's. Google him and see more of the same.

I would guess that this guy inspired Von Dutch, Jeffries and Roth.
