    Hey car folks,
I just wanted to make you aware of my AMERICAN GRAFFITI blog.
If you haven't checked it out yet, I suggest you do. You won't be disappointed. You'll find out everything you wanted to know about the film, but were afraid to ask. My 2 most recent blog posts are about the original Mels drive-in. Let me know what you think.

Interesting read about Mels Drive-In. I always thought the place was stated for demolition after the filming was done. A Mels opened in Rancho Cuca****a but it didn't last long. Also I remember the movie "Guess who's coming to dinnner" had a scene where Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn share a ice cream at Mels.

Nice work Kip, don't forget to do a proper introduction to the HAMB though, or you'll get toasted.
    Cheers.

Nice work, Kip - it proved I was right that Mel's hadn't closed right away; some friends took me there in the summer of '74 and I remember the placemats mentioned that AG had been filmed there.

    Seen Bobbie Tucker lately?:D

Dad-bud "Do a proper introduction to the HAMB though, or you'll get toasted." Not sure what that means.

From the main H.A.M.B. page the first section at the top that says introduce yourself, click on the tab and type out an intro, a little bit about yourself and your hot rod. If ya don't, we'll tie ya to the car and drag ya.;)
