My wife and kid keep calling it a sled.. maybe I should stick it up on the roof and put a dummy santa claus in it with reindeer or something for the holidays..or just leave it in the ba*****t for now until something motivates me in the future..
Anyway, I sold the merc awhile back and part of the deal was this little set up. Finally got it home today. Has a pick up bed, and a race cover to make it a single seater drag deal. I honestly dont know what Im going to do with it. I have no knowledge at all when it comes to t buckets or 20s, 30s rides. though I always loved the look of a chopped T or an A.. Not sure who made the frame or the gl*** body, but I kinda leaning towards maybe putting something on the frame with a steel body, and a ***le.. maybe a t or A or even a early pick up??.. any suggestions? right now Im concentrating on my bike and my 59 f100 so its not going to be touched for a bit, but Id like to get some sort of direction or idea what I need for it.

Gl*** or not, the cover makes it. Make it a single seater street driver with a mild motor. If you are not really into it, make it a roller on the cheap and sell it to someone who will complete it.

Looks to me like a great father/son, father/daughter first car project.

I agree, that cover is *****in! Definite drag car material... or salt flat wannabe. Either way, very cool car with lots of potential.

RichG nailed it. That top just changes everything. Early style Salt flats racer, enclosed motor, streamling panels and rivets, lots of rivets.

Well if you wanna "market" it there may be a bigger street car market... Besides I would really like to buy that Tonneau Style cover from you... PM me if you decide to separate them....

Looks very similar to a the gl*** altered body I had not so long ago, it's now a nostalgia racecar here in NZ.

Thanks for all the great ideas!.. I keep saying Im not going to touch it until my truck is done. .but I keep find myself looking up parts to make it a roller.. and then again there is that 292 y block in my truck that was rebuilt.. I think that would look good right there in that frame..course then again I have that race 300ci six my dad had in his 64 falcon sedan deleivery with weber carbs set up.. I wonder if that would fit in there.. I could see the six in it and the cover in a salt lakes set up..hmmm

Nawww.. In my Opinion Those two bodies are from completely different decades where the rules have allowed much more "la***ude" with regard to the stock "T" body dimensions... note the 'pulled' firewall... The AA/FA body progression as I saw it happen thru my early drag racing days...:):)

you guys are killing me! anyone know if there is a difference in the bodies as far as years for the Ts in gl***? Im not diggin the bed so much as I would a reg rear section or a turtle deck or what ever would fit.. the only reason I was saying about a steel body is.. I only got a bill of sale.. so no ***le.. and that makes it a pain in the *** in jersey.. stil lhave to find suspension for it front and rear..and not sure if the frame needs to be longer or not.. guess I got to get alittle more info on this stuff

Nothing at all wrong with building a T Bucket. You can build to any style you want (or can afford:eek:) and have a lot of fun doing it.

This one looks like a good place to start to me.

Yea an aftermarket or homebuilt ch***is makes a gl*** car a pain in the *** here in Cali too.... So,,,, I went with a '28 "A" ch***is, with readable Vin#s so in Cali at least I have a "T" bodied 1928 Ford...

lookin' at that frame and body/tonneau - you've got a much better start to a cool ride than a lot of guys had. Do something with it, or sell it to someone that will.

My body was built the same way as his, it's standard gl*** T width with the top separate, the tubs have been added later (and rather poorly) and the firewall is actually quite short.

Go for the IL6, on the street, totally cool.:D

I gotta side with RichG on this. The six, hanging out in the open, with a track T nose. Slap the single-seat cover on it, have a quick change peeking out from under the rear deck, throw on some Moon wheel covers, and make it a salt-style car.

Yes there are big differences in the years. Yours looks like a 23, the "teens" bodies are shorter then the 23 and the 23 is shorter then the 27. 27 gives you more leg room.

This one has got to be like 20 years or older. The Guy I got it off of had it sitting in his barn for a long time, and he bought it off someone else that had it sitting around and never used it.. Id hate to buy a turtle deck and it doesnt fit at all , and wasnt sure if they are pretty much all the same or not. I didnt see and tag or makers mark on it, but then again I didnt look that good. Hell Im still trying to figure out what to do or use for the suspension.. guess I need to find more info about how to build one!
