great great stuff!! the thing i love about these panels is the amount of creativity that goes in em' the idea is always the same, displaying information, but there's so many ways to do this, just love it!! phill youre work is awesome man, that's why i used youre image as example, great work!! how thick are those alu panels you use? and what do you use for the paint to stick good to the alu? i did one as well, didn't turn out as good as i wanted i had to paint the side of a car on it with chrome trim concidering i never painted chrome before and i used an airbrush for the first time to do it, i guess i kinda asked for it haha the lettering turned out good though gonna post a pic soon when i cleaned it
Gosh, Those signs are "Art Art Art" !!!!! I have a few hanging in my shop from the late 70s or early 80s. They were $25.00 a sign and I was shocked at that price. Nothing like these signs but I bet they cost more then any homeade custom I ever built and showed !!!!!! LOL
I like Plexi signs. Here's one Alan Smith and I did about 20 years ago. It is 1/2" Plexiglass painted & step shaded on the back and striped & lettered on the front. I always liked to use them as "ART" after the show season was done.
This one is close to 30 years old. It is small for a show sign. Combination of wood and plexi. Alan Smith again. This was before vinyl.
WOW! The Vaughan sign is wonderful! I have quite a few pics of the car but never seen this. The second one has a very strong 60s poster art vibe. Which is of course cool.
Love these old signs or as we called them in the 60's ShowCards. I use to do a few every year at the DC Ram Rods Rod and Custom Show. Did one for "The Orange Crate" when they forgot to bring there's that year. My one and only photo to make the R&C Little pages back the mid '60's was of the car with my sign. Really enjoy all the photo's of the signs and displays. Angle hair still makes me itch just looking at the old photo's

thanks phil!! youre work has really been a big inspiration for the panel, if you look at the layout and a little bit of the lettering style you might notice that the chrome on the other hand should have looked like yours haha but for a first time i think i shouldn't be hard on myself i also don't really get the kick out of airbrushing as i do with brushwork

The showboard is a great accompaniment to a killer Kustom , and the people behind these rides really need the recognition

Thanks Phill. You do some gorgeous work (both at your site and your PinheadLounge page). I didn't think anyone even noticed the signs at GNRS. Well, maybe another 'sign guy'. Me...I'm just an old guy pushing paint around after 44 years.
