They are starting to put it in primer.
I am not worthy. This car is gonna be nice. THe panels on the 34 have been massaged to near perfection, and they are starting to set the seat brackets. His rear fenders are in need of help so we are talking to the metal surgeon from the HAMB. He does nice work.
    Have a look...John

  3. Damn! He's going to have to clean the knuckle prints off of it from people checking to see if it's glass! Nice work!

Very nice work! Proof that those old wood-structured Chevrolets can be saved...

Trial fit of the body. I asked him about leaving it a hiboy. He just smiled. :)

As I said before on page 1. This car is gonna be more of a street rod than a traditional rod, but he still says he is gonna drive the wheels off of it.
That being said here is an update on sonnys build.
He fitted the door latches in the doors, mocked up the glass rear fenders, and tank cover. He is still looking at getting his steel parts repaired and using them.
With the mini tubs he built into the body the big hoosiers tuck in real nice. He will be mounting the brake pedal and booster soon.
    Have a look.

Well Sonny is all smiles. He got his front fenders and grille shell back from the metal surgeon. Nice job Jon. And Sonnys wife told him no plastic fenders on the car so he is looking for a good to fair steel set of rear fenders and tank cover for his car. I have posted in the wanted area, but I thought maybe someone might see it here to.

My God those front fenders are beautiful, wish mine were that nice. The wheels hurt my eyeballs, but to each his own. Very good craftsmanship on this car.

Sonny has been mocking up the front fenders , hood, grille, and running boards, and they are lining up real nice. The seams are tight and uniform all the way around. Once everything is fitted to his liking the car will be blown apart again to finish welding the floor pans, and other asssorted areas. Have a look.

Wow that's going to be one sweet looking ride! Excellent metal work. Wish my fenders and hood looked like that!

Good eye. Hood sides, and top, they really fit good with a little trimming to the top.

Impressive work going on! Front fenders look great! Was the hood a personal preference or could he not find a stock one?

He has the stock one , but from what I understand it's warped, and beat severely and he liked the look of the aftermarket hood.

Nothing much to report on the 34 as yet, except the body work is finished and waiting for the painter to have an open spot. I will keep ya informed when more progress is completed.

Well it's painted. The top color is a three stage brandywine red and the bottom color is a two stage light gold. Damn this thing shines, and it hasn't been color sanded yet.

Nice work, that car has come a long way. Looking at my Model A Victoria body I think I am gong to have to build a similar steel framework for a lot of it.

While the style of this build isn't exactly to my taste it's always nice to see and old Chevy brought back to life. Any updates?

Inspiring... I have the daunting task of steel framing a 32 Chevy 5 window coupe that currently has less the 5% of its orginal wood support. (it was a dirt track car and some point in its life. ) . I like how you did this, nice job.

Well there is a little more done to the old Chevy. Mostly wiring, and assembly, but it's coming together nicely. He might still make it for an afternoon drive this summer.

Looks great, can't wait to see the finished product.

  30. Your car is looking awesome!!! I am also going with the full fender and hood look with my 33 3 window . The yellow 60's hot rod pictured earlier in your post. Also a 34 pick up I am doing
