My uncle and I hauled many wrecks to the crusher this way with his big old Diamond T wrecker. The wrecker belonged to a big truck and bus garage before my uncles junk yard got it.

I remember the 3 Stooges coming on the local kids show "Salty Brine " out of Providence R.I. And demonstrating how the used trick photography or special props to do many of their TV stunts. They had heard of a boy being either blinded or partially blinded when another boy poked him in the eyes. Salty asked if they were worried that exposing these tricks would hurt their shows and they all said they were more worried that more kids get hurt would trying to perform their stunts than what it would do to their shows!.

I agree. My Dad, who died this summer, worked on bombers and fighters in England. I've mentioned before that one of his pilots was Jimmy Stewart. He sometimes had to clean up the body parts inside the bombers when they came back all shot up, but mostly he worked on propellers. Was he in harms way? He was in London more than once when the V-1's or V-2's were landing there. He was also in more than one German bombing attack. Hero, yes.

 

I wish this same tattoo I got just about 40 years ago still looked this fresh. It was done for my daughter's birth with her name under it.
