Hey Somer, congrats again on your purchase..As for the bird doo, you know I'm a clean freak and Ole Chuckie would never let me clean on this car when we took it to the Nats and the Frog Follies!!..He knew that would drive me crazy all weekend...Joe

My Dad's 3 window, and my 5 window next to it. Looks like Pileup #6.

Thanks! Since that photo was taken, it has all new interior, new motor, new dash, different mirrors and a gloss black rumble lid.

Here's one from Iron Invasion that Travis took...

  15. My wife still reminds me a year later that I was a chump for selling her '36 coupe.

Now we have a '47 coupe, does not suit her tastes.

  16. Replaced it with this. It's fat but not the same she says.

I'm still on her "shit" list one year later.

Mine is waiting for some of my attention . I am excited to get it running . My Dad had the body painted 25 years ago and put it on the rebuilt chassis which consists of stock 36 Frame , 40 front end and steering box , 39 box and now a Flathead . Just need some time and a few bucks .

  19. Baron...............She's only been in the 47 maybe 3 or 4 times. She won't drive it and keeps referring to it as ugly.
In some ways, she is right. It doesnt have those pure classic lines her '36 had. The color on her '36 was an eye grabber to the ladies. She's not a big fan of red to make it more controversial between us.
The '32 roadster we own has now become her favorite ride. She's put some miles under that this year since the '36 moved over to Dan's house.
If another '36 comes our way it's going to have to be a 3 window this time and she'll want me to paint it the color of Dan's rose colored coupe.

I guess it is high time that I add my '36 to this tread..
A little background on the car.. I have owned it for sixty years.. It was dead stock when I bought it with 51K on the speedo.. Through the years it has been altered extensively. In the early years I put '37 DeSoto bumpers on it, '40 Chevy head lights, solid hood panels.. I almost chopped it and put a LaSalle grille in it.. Thankfully I changed my mind..
In the early '60's I went back to the stock look, removing the '40 Chevy head lights, DeSoto bumpers, solid hood panels and the later model wheels in favor of '36 wheels on '39 drums.
As you will note from the attached pix, the engine is a highly modified 59AB.. The entire power train is '47-48 Ford/Merc with the exception of the steering gears which are '40 Ford..
