An employee at our shop finally got his dad to let him bring tons of 50's car wreck, custom car and car show pics to our shop for us to scan and post. Joey Moriarty and his dad Joe Moriarty Sr. used to run Moriarty's Car Craft. The shop had been open in the same location from 1948-2003. Countless car and trucks had been repaired and customized there throughout the years. The building still stands, but has now been turned into a Napa parts store. Here are just a few of the pics we have of the shop in it's heyday. Enjoy.

Wow, some pretty nasty wrecks there. Big heavy cars with weak brakes = ouch !!
No padded dashes or air bags and only a lap belt !!!

I'd wager that the only belts in any of those cars were the ones under the hoods.

Seems to me that the "Bustle Bomb" was Loyd Scotts and was the first rail to go 150 in the quarter, but when it did it had one engine that was a flat head, possibly a Cad .

I will try to post more in the coming weeks. Getting Joe Sr. to let these pics come to the shop to scan them was like pulling teeth. He says he has more somewhere at his house. He keeps everything. We recently honored him at this year's Collector Car day show at our shop. We talked for quite a while about all the cars he has had a hand in building. He is a hoot!!
