I am personal friends with Arthur Bentas who along with his brother Chuck owned Kavalla Karts back in the 60's. As a kid I had one of his Karts but like most of us, swapped it off for something else. Stupid me ..... These pics are from Arthur's personal collection. They made simple kids karts, single and dual engine versions, and as you can see in the attached pictures an endurance race version with huge saddle tanks. I have more pics that I will post later ....
If I remember right they are perillas ( about 7.5 c.i. rotary valve) the class was "C-OPEN" no limit as to mods or fuel.
Those were good , fast single engine karts. Check out the youtube "vintage enduro kart racing" it has some good videos
I have not owned a kart before, but the 100cc enduro karts look like this might be an addictive hobby. I've ridden and raced enduro's (bikes), and hare scrambles my whole life and thought "I need to try this kart thing".
Raced enduros for ten years, every chance I got. C-open till the last two years, then costs and work got in the way
Here is an other video on Youtube ,,, pictures with music from Quincy 2006 . http://youtu.be/i4XEVcbzQzk Please like us on facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/Black-Dog-Vintage-Racing/109693742477070 Thanks Brian
