Does anyone happen to have a photo of the 1948 Tucker when it was at Cliff House and the Sutro Baths from the mid 50s to the mid 60s? Certainly someone snapped a photo.

I met my wife at the Sahara Tahoe in 1976 while I was sitting at the bar waiting for a poker seat to open. She worked there as a cocktail waitress.
Several years before that I worked at Harvey's as a slot machine mechanic and then later as a poker dealer...I worked construction when I met my wife (carpenter in the summer, equipment operator/snow plow in the winter) .

At the time (early 70's) it was the best place in the world to be single.

Ditto. Many have been previously posted but they are welcome regardless.

Wow, what I wouldn't give for those slant antennas on the '56 DeSoto! Very hard to find nowadays. Even as a four-door and dirty, this model was still an eye-catcher.

As Twin6 mentioned, a repost. But OKG, you are so right. For my money, DeSoto was at its apex -- in every sense -- in 1955, 1956 and 1957. Besides Hemi power, they had snappy lines, a ton of chrome & stainless, and the marque offered more color combinations than any other make from Detroit. To top it all off, they were comfortable and reliable, too!

    JDMiller asked: Rich kids?

Well, yes. But, I think people mostly sell Tony Dow (right) short. Yes, he was in the right place,

right time to land the role as the Beaver's older bro, Wally. But the man's intellect and talents in
everything he's done just amaze me. It's as though he's had several parallel careers in his life --
and all of them extremely successful! Even before "Leave It to Beaver," Tony was a world-class
diver. In 1963 after seven seasons on "Beaver," he graduated from high school. He went on to
many more roles, as well as producing and directing. As if that were not enough, he then pursued
a a passion: sculpting! Just a dabbler? If having your work invited to be displayed in the Louvre
in Paris:eek: is dabbling, well, maybe we all need more Tony Dows!

Tony Dow apparently enjoyed plenty of toys, what with a long-running TV series, before he was even 20!
