It's been a while so I guess it's about time for an update....

It took pieces from 4 core transmissions and an order to Macs but it's finally done. This might just be the most expensive '39 Ford toploader ever built.........

Got the wheels done. I talked BenD into taking them down to Austin when he went down for the Roundup. Thanks again Ben....

Also collected a few more parts that they will need for the frame mockup. This stuff is in a box and heading your way Mr. Bleed......

Yep, they are the ones from Pure Hot Rods. I couldn't find any originals. They look great out of the box. They are longer than OEM so I am anxious to see how they look under the car.

longer, so also maybe easier to find shocks for? i think if they are painted the same color as the rear end they will fade away.

anyway, i think i'll grab some too.

I talked to Bob a few days ago. The frame is on the jig and being mocked up now. I'll post some pics when I get 'em.

We didn't take the bed to Austin with the rest of the truck so I've been working on it lately. It was pretty banged up...but it is getting there.

Also reversed the eyes and radiused the leaves on my front spring.

    More soon..

You can't get any more traditional than you are with the choice of parts! This truck is going to be pretty great to watch come together. Especially knowing that it's helping Tuck out. Consider me subscribed.

Oh.. And I can only add to the praise about the little shop. Great looking joint you've got there.

The wait is about over Larry...

Bob and the guys are racing to get the chassis finished up and turned into a roller this week. We will be heading to Austin this weekend to pick it up...and I hear there is a little car show in town too.

More soon...Here is a sneak peak from a couple weeks ago..

If your frame was the one that was rolling with the wide fives and flathead, then it looks GOOD!

I spent a while looking over that chassis at ASS's open house. Glad to know that good looking piece belongs to a HAMBer!

do you have a bed? i might have missed it but wsa just thinking a 31 wide bed would be just killer on there. make it almost look like an inbetween years rare option that wasnt released.

I like the way you think!:D

Yep..I've got a '31 wide bed. Gonna extend it a few inches between the cab and rear wheel reveal to fit the longer '32 frame wheelbase.

This weekend I drove down to Austin Speed Shop and took delivery of one sweet hot rod chassis. I think it turned out great...just about perfect.

Thanks again to Bob and all the A.S.S. guys that helped out. Tuck, you got some good friends in Texas.

    Now it's my turn.....

Today we mocked up the body. Everything is fitting real nice! I think I'll just stare at it for a while and get a plan together...

It looks great mocked up. I'd stare at that for quite a while too.
