On the VIN, what letter would it start with?

I know that on the pickups it starts with an F,
    F10 for a F100,
    F25 for a F250 etc.

I also have found information that Parcel Deliveries start with a P,
but the only info I could find on them starts with P35 (350) and then P50, and P60.

This panel truck appears to be a 1/2 ton, 5 lugs on the wheels.

Also is the VIN on the frame located on the right front, on the front cross member?

The reason I ask is that I have found a panel truck that I am looking to buy.

The current owner has a ***le, the VIN states F10.

I just want to make sure things are legit.

    Thanks!

    Thanks Jim,

I kinda have my hopes up on this truck. That gives me hope, since your numbers start with the F10.

I forgot to mention that the glove box tag is missing.

I have asked the current owner to look for the frame numbers before I even consider making an offer.

I know that is the only way to know for sure.

I built a new frame from 2 x 6 tube. It's all straight so the only real kick was the rear. I used a mustang cross member and just notched it so I could leave the 2 x 6 intact. I'll probably stamp it myself and hope for the best. Or try to find the frame numbers and chop that piece out if I have to. I dont know how much grief we might get since these things are getting old.

9951 panel delivery, 2000 deluxe panel delivery. Going to be rare either way.

I talked to the owner today,
He found the VIN on the frame.
He said it matches the ***le.

Well I got the truck yesterday.
Checked the ***le VIN against the frame numbers, they all matched....

Looking forward to getting this on the road.

Great looking Panel. Mine had ****g carpet in the back when I bought it.

You need to become a member of F.T.E. http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/index.php

They have a forum for old ford Truck and Panels. Very helpful for getting ideas and help on our old 53-56 F100s and Panels.
