I wonder why everyone felt the need to pose sitting on top of their cars back then? Surely couldn't do that now.

I could be wrong, WCD, but it looks like Neil Young, I think. Legit quoting of a pic to ask a legit question, though! That's different from the posting and re-posting of pix, as though they were "fresh" to the thread.

My memory is as bad as anybody's. But, there's getting to be a whole lotta flab in our favorite thread. We really need to buckle down and do a better job of self-policing. Just in pp. 2871 through 2875, there were 15 photos that even MY old brain can remember being posted AND REPOSTED at least two or three times previously on this thread.;) (And, no, not referring to legit quoting of pix for the sake of commentary. Talking REPOSTS = REPEATS.)

Also, there were over 50 photos posted singly (and with no ID, no comment, no attribution). When an high-posting HAMBer did this early on in the thread, he was harrassed 'til he left. Couldn't these be posted two or three together to save posts and band width?

Hey....... Fogerty and that band ain't bad for something that came from Louisana :)
I can't get into Neil Young though.
Stuck in Lodi stays on my play list and I play it every day when I can.

Why do the pictures repost sometimes when making a reply, and not other times ? I can understand the band width consumption thing with some of these photo's that take several minutes to down load. Tom S.

Tom, I'm not a computer guy, so I can't understand all the ins and outs of V-Bulletin. I've gotten what I have by experimenting, tryin things, then keeping what works. But depending on whether you WANT a quoted pic to show -- or not -- I have better luck with the "POST REPLY" feature than with the "Quick Reply." There, at least for me, it's easier to edit (and preview) your post before hitting GO. But, then, you can always EDIT a post after you've posted it, usually including adding or deleting a photo.

Both of the above functions are also a good place for guys/gals to delete all but the one pic they are quoting and commenting about, too. And that does save bandwidth, I think.

Tom, hear ya. Back when CCR first came on the scene, to tell the truth, I
didn't pay much mind to them. As good as they obviously were, there were a
ton of amazing groups coming to the fore as the Beatles era was winding
down. But years later, I had more time to listen and to appreciate John

And since we're talking about monster talents, albeit in another musical
genre, Dave Brubeck surely made a mark on the Jazz world, didn't he?

Hey there, Eddie. Can't imagine why anybody would complain, but if you say so. I'm saying, look at guys like Dog (who started the thread) and Gary (SWI). They usually gang pix up to save space, unless there's a reason to cite one for special notice or, perhaps, because the search had taken a long time or special effort -- whatever. That said, they each have almost 4,000 posts on this thread alone. Had they posted each pic singly, they'd have 10,000 posts-plus, probably.

The unnamed HAMBer I mentioned earlier had a lifetime trove of his own car photos, and he posted them one-at-a-time, even when guys complained to him that was simply to drive up his post count.

Thanks, buddy. Wasn't trying to be a pain in the ass. We're just all better off if we sort of mind our own store. It's not always easy to keep not only within HAMB guidelines but also the de facto protocol of such a HUGE thread! We're in it together, so we have to communicate and to evaluate ourselves occasionally. THANKS.

Yeah I love this place:DI try to just go with the flow .I don't wanna be one of those guys that cause "problems" and get threads shut down or closed.Nothing wrong with clear communication its lack of that causes issues. Off to work I go .I hope to return to 4 pages of yesteryears :)
