Hahaha, perfect timing. I finished the bike for now. I ended up having to rebuild the engine and transmission. But it is riding now and it is FAST. It will come apart for paint and plating just after the new year, once the door repairs on the truck are finished.

Now that's out of the way...

I brought the truck to the shop last night and took the doors off to start surveying the repairs that will be needed. I picked up an extra set of doors a while back that also need repair.

I've started with the p***enger door. I'm going to use the extra door for this side. The hinges are in great shape on the extra and **** on the other. It will need inner and outer patch panels. Which ever door I use for the other side will need inner and outer patch panels also, just depends on which one is in better shape.

Also, my buddy Jeremy and I talked about some custom modifications to the cab. I'm not going to elaborate until we have a plan nailed down. But I'm pretty excited to be back on it.

    Love,
    terd

I did this today. There was a switch panel there with a bunch of toggles not hooked up to anything. Gone now.

There's a few more screw holes to fill in the cab by the back window where somebody had who knows what screwed in and holes where the sun visors were. Then a little work on the p***enger side hinge pocket on the cab. Then the actual door fixing.

Although one teenage daughter and one almost teenage daughter and getting geared up for Christmas is keeping me busy, the goal is to have the doors done by Christmas. The bottom line is I'm on it, focused, and doing it to it.

Not quite done here, but a good start. Once this is finished being m***aged and I get the hinge pocket back inside, I'll get the outside patch panel nailed on there and try it on for size.

Thanks Jeffy! It was nice to be in the shop today all by myself, no music, no distractions, just concentrating on doing it to it. I wish Jeremy was there though, lol, I can always use some good tutelage. He always has the ideas that are so simple but so genius. I want to be like him when I grow up.

Next is a little bit of repair around the lower hinge area on the p***enger side of the cab. Then the other door.

Well, I think I've finally got the p***enger door finished. It was really frustrating, I had to cut it apart again from the last pics I posted. It seems the patch panel is not curved in the middle like it is on the ends and that created a peak at the weld seam.

I got a bunch of tutelage from my buddy Jeremy and we got it worked out. I also ended up cutting out and replacing a section on the leading edge of the door. Once I had the paint off, it was sunken in like it had been beat with a hammer.

So, one down and one to go. I'm going to try to get the door back on and gapped up on Wednesday. I also got a good lead on a big back window section, so swapping that in may be in the near future too.

    Pics to come soon...

I got my p***enger door hung last night. It turned out pretty decent. Front fender needs to come back to get the gap right, but it's pretty good everywhere else. I'll get that front fender adjusted once I take it off and put it back on when I do epoxy primer on the rest of the cab and front end (after the driver door gets fixed). The p***enger door shuts great now, no more slamming and lifting.

I left my camera at home when I went to the shop, so no new pics yet. But I'll be sure to bring it when I start on the driver door on Wednesday when I get the patch panels.

Hopefully my nightmare with the p***enger door will bring experience that will help the driver door go quicker and easier. And sometime soon, I'll be installing oversized hinge pins as there is some slop now.

Hi, I really like your truck, the pictures are great. I only have one problem though, I can't read, never learned how to. So, if you could post more pictures that would be swell, because I did learn how to see them. Some day I will have a hot rod or pickup as well, and maybe I will drive it to your club house for a meet and greet. In the mean time I will continue to look at pictures in hopes of finding my pride and joy to work on.
