    This just got much cooler

  3. IT SURE DID.....

Thanks Rooman for bringing him by to check things out. The pics of Mr. Iskenderian checking out my ride are going up on the shop wall.

How Fricken cool is that!!! What an honor.

It is awesome that he likes the car, because he is supplying the cam for it. Jo has sent a core out to Isky and they will be grinding the cam for the car.

Based on the grind being used it was thought that it was probably a grind developed for a certain Mr. Ivo?!? :D:eek:

Bloody 'ell, the cost of talkin with Dave just went up. Now he "knows people"!!!
It's looking great Dave. Sorry but I don't care for the lights. Not that my opinion counts, now that you know Mr Isky! Can't wait to see it at COBO.
    Cheers,
    Stewart.

  7. Martyn, Stewart and Jeff - Guys, I didn't get to meet him. He has no idea what a schmuck I am.

I'm just worried I'm gonna be like the geeky kid in the 5th grade that had the Coleco Electronic Quarterback game. You know the one. The only reason anyone hung around with him is because he had the game. As soon as the batteries went dead, everyone scattered.

You guys will still hang with me just because right?!?! Not just to play with my new toy??? LOL

I can't wait to see you guys at Cobo. Good times.

What do you mean you didn't get to meet him?
Who are you and do I know you anyway!
All right we will still talk to you! But you know me, I'll talk to anyone!
    Cheers,
    Stewart.

They like me, they really like me!!!!!

Should have some more updates this weekend. Jo has finished the cowl steering (using a f100 box) which is pretty cool. If I can round up enough good pics, I'll post all the details.

Ryan is coming in from Cincy to help out. I think the garnish moldings are getting chopped.

Oh man this thing is really coming along! Only thing I'm not feeling (and I just have to express my opinion even though it's not worth shit) is the taillights. Too big, Too ornate too much for the rear end of the car. Why not play off the engine and go with '50 Buick tail lights?

    Gonna be pretty insane!!!

Hey, hold on now. I said I would talk to you. I didn't say anything about liking you!!!
What I want to know is how are you going to drink beers at COBO with only one kidney. You surely must have sold at least one to be paying for this!!!
Drinking is way over rated anyway. I'd consider selling one for the really great stuff that's on the coupe. Well done.
    Cheers,
    Stewart.

  15. I'm with ya JJ, the keystone tail lights are gone. Not right for this car. I'm rethinking the drilled spreader bar also.

Stewart, the love is mutual brother, I'm just comfortable enough with my manhood to admit when I have a man crush. I'm not sure it's a man crush as much as a coupe crush. ;) How is your coupe coming anyway? Black yet?

Nobody ever told me I couldn't drink beer if I sold a kidney! Maybe I'll sell a testicle instead - maybe both of them. That is if I can get them out my wifes purse.

Drilled spreader is very cool and I'm a minimalist so for me to say that must mean (for me) it doesn't distract from the car. Think of it painted as well....it'll disappear but still be a nice touch especially since it's curved. If you get rid of it, let me know. :D:D:D

I really think the '50 Buick tail lights would be killer on this car. '47 or 50 Buick tail lights would be cool but they also might be kinda big and flashy..... '50 Poncho's are always cool. Hmmmm..... It's hard doing something unique without saying "hey hey look at me". There's a balance there which is important to keep as you know. And since that's such a big tail pan it kind needs something.

    '49 Hudson???

    Tough choices!!!

There is already a lot of cool stuff and details going on with the car, IMHO it doesn't need/want some thing trick for taillights. Stick with something classic.

I'm with Stewart on this one. The car speaks for its' self. Don't pimp it up and detract from the cool stuff.

There you go. Easy-peasy, huh? :D;)

There is also a support bracket that will fabbed that attaches to the right side of the box.

This thing is slicker-than-shit and, looks cool and has a better ratio than a Schroeder box. Way cool.

    More later...

This thing is getting better by the minute. it's going to be knock out. Well done Dave. It makes me want to start mine over, and it's not even done yet! Will you still talk to me even though my car isn't as good as yours!
    Cheers,
    Stewart.

Stewart, I'd talk to you all day - Mostly just 'cause I like your limey accent. ;)
Your model 40 is bad to the bone and I'd be honored to park next to it any time. Is it ready for paint yet? That thing deserves to be shiny - just sayin'...

Update - the un-drilled spreader bar is back...

and the tail lights aren't totally dead yet either. We have some ideas...
