Well, you have indentified an instrument panel I've had for years. The panel is so intricate in detail and that incredibly silly ashtray(mine is missing the removeable "tray") make it a really neat piece. My panel is no where near as nice as yours, missing speedo, bad other gauges but I grabbed it because of the housing detail and love it. The 36 Studebaker 3w coupes have a unique triangular rear window with 2 gl*** panes which is hinged at the top to open a few inches for ventilation. I believe that may also be true of 37s but not for sure. I find the 36 Studebaker coupes to be beautiful in design and streamlining, wish I had finished mine back in the early 70s.
Love those early Studebakers. The 34 sedans are cool too with both front and rear doors hinging on the back post for a suicide FRONT door and a conventionally opening rear door, opposite of most sedans of the period through 1948.
Neat and unusual car. I'm sure that motor will make it so you won't have any trouble merging with traffic. Please keep us updated.
Well you have just ruined the paint. Lots of potential good lines. So you are now a bonified member of the Save a Stude Foundation.
Very nice score, looks like a clean car for a field car. Got it looking good. Here is a poor quality photo of a 34 coupe at a show in 2009 in Grand Island, Ne. keep up the good work. ~sololobo~
Just stopped in a local body shop (Belton, MO) to have some work done and they have a red 1934 Studebaker mostly original (red) parked inside. Said they wern't able to get to it for maybe 6 months, customers car. Never seen one in person, very slick lines (3 window). I'll see if it's ok to snap some pictures of the dash, I'm sure it would be fine.
