Springfield IL 1982 Car Craft Street Machine Nationals was the location. How sweet is this one?

 

A bit wild and straying a tad for the HAMB, but the paint and year of car skirt that issue.

 

Heres one for JJ, Nad's and all the other finned Elky fans out there.

 

Straying a lot with this one. A radical rat infested 'shovel.

 

Ending this round of Street Nats pitcures is a very sweet, clean understated '58. Sorry the pix are poor, but it is a glimpse at what was 30 years ago. Want to see more? Later on....

Just what this tired ol' thread needs!

 

I always loved the guys who put the long shackles on to raise the rear but the springs were so tired that they bent the wrong way and the rear hardly went up at all.

 

My 57 when I bought it in 69.

 

X2, that blue round body falcon is NICE.

 

Hey Slammed, I'm sure this is my Henry J. I just bought it last summer and it's in pieces now. The rear wheel wells with the 1/2 electrical conduit lip are what clued me in. This is from Indy in '79? I was there too.

Here's a picture of it when I got it home and hung the fenders and quarters on to see what I had. It has no floor or firewall at this point, but now has a straight axle.

No, this pix was from the 1982 Street Nats in Springfield IL. I was at the '79 in Indy too. There will be more from this '82 show as well as 1981 and 1979. Stay tuned beachez.

I can't believe they modified such a rare car - a real live 70 Chevelle that's not red.

Juiced in the Mid West (nowheresville right Ed?) Was rare indeed in '82.

Some 5 spokes would bring this one around just right. Deliver us from evil.

 

You can tell the classics, a change of wheels and they fit into any century!

 

A sweet one then, but today chrome the ft suspension, chrome a Olds/Poncho HD rear end and a stroked 409/4-speed will make this '63 a retro bruiser.

 

This one is TIMELESS! Needs nothing but miles racked up under it's tires. Say yes Gomer!

 

Last of this round of '82 Street MAchine Nat's but certainly not least a Bubble Top of the blue oval team -Starliner- Daisy's look good here. Who would turn down this Red Rocket? There ya go Rocky! More to come. Later.....
