Did this come from a lawyer in the Chicago area?

Russ's car is OK a little too Street Roddy for me. I'm going to keep mine more in line of a 60's car not like Russ's more modern stuff and Big wheels ETC...

Just don't take it apart so far, that it can't be finished for next year.
    A common mistake.

I usually do my builds start to finish in about 6-8 months, otherwise I start to lose interest and it could be forever.

Week 1 progress just disassembly and happy to report no nasty surprises, just a couple small quarter sized rust holes in the floor pan thats about it. Dropped the fenders off to be blasted. I was a little disappointed the media blaster doesnt do soda anymore. I was concerned about warpage but he siad it would be OK. I asked what media type he would use said aluminum oxide. So I guess we'll see how it turns out he's alway done a great job for me in the past .

I haven't decided yet on a color. Im still kicking ideas around on that, but here are a few options Im considering. I cant find a pic of a '40 in the silvery green/gold color but I really like that color too, and since my last two builds actually used Porsche colors (The Blue was a Porsche color) I thought I'd throw that in the mix.

I like the gold color. Here is one that a guy in our town just finished. I think it is a Toyota color but not sure. I call it Champagne.

Just a little more progress got the body off the floors are very solid. They do have a couple bad spots in the front 1/3 of the floor. I have not decided if I will just use small patches or replace the entire front pan yet.

I thought 60's style was front end jacked in the air and slicks and ladder bars on the rear

I'm sure some were. I think of that style more as a drag car style what many call "Gassers"now I guess. I think there must be more "gassers" now than there ever was then, but thats not really what I was thinking.
Here is a thread about Model A's in the style I'm thinking of

Russco- I'm digging the gold color as well. I wanted to do that with my '40 but gold ain't cheap these days.

I would love to see flames on your car, Toast. Just a thought. maybe after a few more miles?
