Only got the rear portion of the seat mounts done today it was hard to do trying to use the old seat mounts I wanted to use the original holes so each bracket had to be custom made.[IMG]

Another angle of the floor support bars, you might spot the ford high rise fuel injection intake that we are using to build our throttle linkage. [IMG]

I see a automatic transmission behind the engine, was Gene's car a automatic back then?

What were the E.T's of the car back in the day?

Was it raced on any 1/8 mile drag strips?

It had every combo you could think of Gene did what ever it took to win at the time. It had a 4 speed, it had a hydro that he bought from Arnie the farmer Beswick, at one time he had a C6 with a clutch then in the end it had a C6 with a converter. I may have the order that it went off a little. I'm putting the clutch petal back in it but we are going to start off with the auto to get things worked out. It ran 9.80 at 1.45 mph I think he told me that it ran 6.30 in the 1/8 that was flying back then.

I got a lot done today trying to make some headway for the showing Saturday. I got this trick from Bad Bananas build thread I jacked the car way up then lowered the chassis down so I could weld the top of the bars.[IMG]

    Quain,
Just found the build, and I love that you're making every effort to keep it close to original! Just wanted to tell you that the line loc is probably not an automotive item, but rather an industrial solenoid with 12v. coil. Might try a local industrial pneumatic supply to find a similar valve.

  25. Quain, is this Gene's Mustang? I found this shot on another site.

The tower looks like Ware Shoals. Might not be, but looks like it.

  28. Could be Gene's or Ed Skeltons,,I never saw it in primer. HRP

Ed had an altered w/b Mustang fastback. I don't remember him having a roadster. I never saw Gene's Mustang in primer either. Look close at the streamlinging behaind the roll bar. Looks to be the same blue color as the "Moonlighter". I could be wrong.
