Your first post should have been an introduction. You then made a double post that was an insult. You should observe Abe Lincoln's advice "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

I posted 3269. The truck on my Avitar was for sale on craigslist. I don't think the price was too high. I guess I was too cheap on the price. It sold in less than a week for my asking price and I had 2 more in line to take it if the deal fell through. It is a great truck, and I would not had sold it if I had not bought the 56 COE. I'm not trying to bust someone's balls here, but like everyone else, when I sell something I want the most I can get out of it. Things are worth what someone is willing to will give...

He won't find one as nice looking as yours for $3000. As you said, selling within a week shows you were certainly on with the price or even too low. I sold two COE project bodies only this summer for $1500 each within a week. They went to the same guy who I then found out bought them to resell. So I guess I sold them too cheap also

I think your price was very fair. I've seen people price things in the classifieds that are outragious and they still have them just for that reason. If it is for sale price it to sell. JMO

I think you had a great price based on the pictures. Since I have been looking I found most farm trucks are in the $2-2500 range. Colorado and ND are proud of their trucks wanting in the $6k range for a similar quality of truck. I'm not sure why that is?? Not very scientific just what I have seen lately.

While we are defending the $6000 price we need to keep a couple of things in mind. What's fair or even cheap in one area is expensive in another. What's in poor condition in one area might be considered above average in another. It's all in your perspective. Don't take this wrong I'm certainly not defending the poster who was dumb enough to post his idea of the price and his absurd offer.

This is so true and I wish more people would take that into account.

One of the things that makes these trucks a little different to buy is their size. If you want the whole truck or the seller won't remove the cab they are tougher and more expensive to ship. That may have a bearing on the prices too. I bought mine from Montana and paid a premium for it just to get one that was pretty straight and not rusted out that was within 240 miles since the seller met me half way. I justified paying top dollar because it was a lot cheaper than a '32 Ford, which is my other bad habit.

Not long after that i found one locally that was almost as nice and I sold it to Tom in New York but I was able to arrange shipping to him for just $400 through a friend that owns a 48 state trucking company.

I found another one this fall that I'll try to buy next year when I get back to South Dakota. It isn't as nice as the others and has rust issues so I don't know if it will be worth hauling it out.

I agree. Ultimately everything is worth what people are willing to pay for it. :)

No I missed out this year, but a lot of people thought I was there because I must have gotten 100 emails and phone calls when it was on!

I like your avatar being upside down, I'd keep it! ;)

When you have time you should make an introduction thread (as is customary to do here)
