Your right, it's right down Hwy 90 from Keesler Air Force Base. I was there in 1966 and remember it. Rich

  10. I have never seen this picture before, but I have seen some '57's painted this way in pre-production ads like this one. They are always four door hardtops. This "ad" has the unique paint job on the car in the background, but the tail light shot in the foreground has the typical Belair 1/4 insert.

Unless you ever heard folks who had parents who lived then, you only get the history recorded from the Union perspective. I am unable to find any evidence of Dixie heritage or how massive plantation farm communities were, and what brought about succession.
Plenty of civil rights history, but not very much about northern child and immigrant mill labor.
Post war desecration of Dixie is unrecorded, but I know that because of it, the crash of 1929 had little bearing for southern sharecroppers. Life as usual then, and no one knows how well we have it today.

The names of the dead Confederates carved in the stone on both sides of the entrance to the courthouse in Frankiln, Tn. reads just like that big gray wall in DC to me.

Be nice to know what town the pictures were taken in and what it looks like now. The one at the beach looks like a beach in So. Calif.

To be fair:rolleyes:, the name of the medal is about as confusing as trying to figure out what the different levels of British knighthood are (as if most Americans know that the level bestowed on authors, show people and entertainers -- such as the Beatles -- is at the lowest rung).

Though the official name is Medal of Honor, in reality it is OFTEN called the Congressional Medal of Honor, perhaps in part due to confusing it with the Congressional Gold Medal.

This is one of four 1934 Ford chassis display photos we have up on The Old Motor along with an entertaining video (a couple of previews are below) about the 1934 Ford assembly.

There has been a major bridge failure, on average, every 30 years since 1850.
