'40 Merc windshield question

Hey guys, I NEED to know what the height of the windshield (glass) is at the divider bar. I would LIKE to know what that measurement is without the glass and trim. THANKS!

 

Were the Ford and Merc bodies of those years the same ? The differences being grill, trim, and some interior trim ?

the actual- WS OPENING- at the center is 14-3/4"

 

If they are the same as a Ford the glass is 14 3/16 the recess is 14 5/16 and the lip to lip measurement That the rubber seals over is 13 9/16 .

Edit: Well they must not be the same as the Ford

No, totally different.

 

They are of course different as many old Fords parts are.....
What is important is how much different are they?
I have this '40 Mercury project of mine to compare here,I feel the 41 ford is similar in the windshield area as I am using a 41 Ford dash on mine.
It is very close to a bolt in.
as a comparison-I will have to redrill about half the mount holes across the lower windshield opening.
However the dash will fit well otherwise.
this tells me the 40 Merc is more like a 41up Ford than it is like a 40 Ford....so the verdict is -different- but very close.
the 40 mercury windshield posts are laid back a bit more as well.
