I like the bulkhead idea. I'm using the same tank in my coupe. But I want to run a roll down rear window. Are you able to do both?

  4. .

Elrod, I made the decision early on to run fixed glass in the back, so the bulkhead was not designed to work with a roll down window. At 18 gallons the tank is bigger than I wanted, but it will be great for road trips.

Hell yeah, you should be able to make it about 36 miles if my calculations are right.

    Big Nasty Nailhead + Injectors + 5-speed + Quickchange = 2 miles per gallon. Awesome...! :D

    Real slick DOD!
I love all the little details and one off parts. VERY nice job on everything!
Question for ya. Did you make the gas tank, or buy it?
I'm setting my 32 up similar with the trunk mounted tank and bulkhead between trunk and pass comp.
I was going to make a tank, but that one looks good so figured i'd look into it if you bought it.

    Thanks,
    Tony

    It's ok, I won't tell any one ;)

In a job I had rebuilding war birds we would regualarily mill and then rumble the items to come out looking like a casting,

This car will be a real standout!

  17. Tony,

The tank is an off-the shelf-unit from Tanks Inc. wanted to find something a little more unique, but Just couldn't find anything that would meet our needs. I couldn't delay the build looking anymore so I settled for this one. We will be tricking out a little and making it a lot cooler though.

Dave, Are you using steel bar instead of traditional wood for body supports? Nothing like good wood... This is an awesome car. Can't wait to drive it (ha, ha)

  20. .

Hi Chris. The only wood removed is around the rear window. The rest will stay.

Some drilled steel rod will be used to add a little more support here and there.

As far as the drive, I'm sure it could be arranged.

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

I would guess machined then blasted but it looks like a casting.

  25. That's a negative on the CNC. Jo mills everything manually. The stuff is then blasted, beaten, scuffed and played with to make it look like sand cast aluminum. It is pretty cool and really does look like an older casting - even up close.

The throttle linkage is done and some rear body braces were fabbed up. I'll try to post some more pics soon, but am leaving town for the holidays and may not have good internet access.

Based on your stable of cars, you have enough prizes. :)

Then again, one can never have too many prizes...
