The Nick Matranga '40 Mercury made a big impression on me. It had classic, flowing lines, a beautiful interior and paint. It was only around for a couple of years. However, it was the car that set the bar for many other customs that followed.

So many of the cars shown on this thread are etched in my brain , but this is the one that turned me into a true Hot Rodder.

Looking at the cars listed, I wonder how many of us actually built many of these cars (in 1/25 scale, thanks to AMT and Revell ). I certainly did. :D

For me it'd have to be Bob Falfa's '55 (that prompted me to buy a '55 210 2 door post) and (I hate to admit this one) the 'Vette from Corvette Summer. What they did to the Corvette was borderline criminal but Mark Hamill's obsession with the car struck a chord.
