Hi guys, just wondering how many members own a 1940 or 1941 Mopar and what make do you own ? ;)

I have a 1940 Dodge businessman Coupe, a 1940 Dodge sedan and looking at picking up this 1940 Chrysler Royal sedan soon.

Please do not ask me what brand of polish i use, it is not recommended, obviously...........

This is just my personal taste, i Love the 1940-41 body style Mopar over all others, Sedans, two doors, roadsters, but my favourite is the Coupes, pity Ma Mopar never did a 3 window Coupe for 1940, because the `41 3 window Coupes look so sweet also.

  2. Had a 1941 Dodge Luxury Liner sedan for about three months. This was about 25 years ago. Paid $400 for a running, driving car. I searched to see if I had any pics of it, to no avail. Neat old Dodge.

40 d14 convert, stock mod frt 8 3/4 rear on the ground all mopar baby! 440/727

  4. When I was young I found a shell of a Coupe sitting in a bush. I was told it was a 1940 or 1941 Plymouth Coupe.
I absolutely fell in love with the shape of the body. I loved the roof lines from any angle. I loved the shape of the car.
I found my 1940 Plymouth Coupe about 30 years ago. The frame was cut in half, the FLOORS were diamond tufted, and the owner told me "It can NEVER be made into a car again".
    lol
It had 29,000 original miles, the body was near mint.
I had it running within a year, 440, 2x4bbl, 727 auto, and a narrowed 8 3/4 rear with 4.10 gears. it weighed 2910 pounds, and moved along quite well.
I saw the seller's wife two years after I bought it, she asked if I was driving the car, I said I was. She was stunned, she said her husband had thought he had seen the car driving on the road.

I picked up my (now) wife in the car in high school. The last time I drove the car I took her around the block when she was 8 months pregnant with my son.
    He's 22 now.

I tore the car apart in 2000 and I'm presently trying to resume my quest to get it on the road.

Hi, great score. The `40-`41 had there own body shape. If you look at your `46 - `48 Mopars, they have the fender extending in to the front door buddy. the earlier model does not, they have a separate fender from door on them..... :) but they are pretty close ;)

I bought my 41 Chrysler Windsor 4dr sedan for $700. in 1974 because I needed a family car. I had two small kids and my 37 Plymouth coupe just wasn't big enough.

My '39 Plym conv cpe is close to being a '40, it was built late in the '39 production series..
I found the car sitting in a field in Montana where it had been sitting for 38 years.. As you can tell from the before and after pix, a lot of work went into the restoration.. It is a Resto-Mod... 2002 V8, AT, PS, AC. etc.. A real nice ride that cruises very nicely at 70+..
I starting writing about my Plym project on the Plymouth Owners Bulletin (POC) over ten years ago, the result of which has been that people from all over the world contact me for info about the '39-40 Plym's..
I am currently helping a man in Australia with the rebuilding of a '39 Plym conv that he had shipped from the states about two years ago..
