Scumdog, just 19 days ago, I posted the whole series from the 1956-58 Vikings gang of Winfield, Kansas. It's a cool story, told in words and pictures by Bill Bottorff who was actually one of the Winfield High Vikings. You can see these if you review between Posts 57,526 and 57,539. If you see more of the pix, you can see that these were just temp mounts, as the car was in the build, scratch-your-head, build-some-more stage.

 

Did this nice lady recieve a vacuum cleaner for Christmas? I wonder how that would go down these days?

 

I hate being old,But I sure am glad I grew up in the fifty's and sixty's.

 

One year, about 15 years ago, I thought it would be amusing, so I bought my wife a new pair of mower blades for her mower for Christmas. I wrapped them in paper and put them under the tree for her.

When she opened it, she was not all that amused but then saw the funny side of it and laughed and laughed and laughed.

True story.

I am still alive today to tell the story, maybe it's luck, maybe I'm doing something right.
