I must have stirred the local hot rod pot when stumbling across these cars. A few weeks after posting all these pictures and telling a few locals about it, 3 of the cars were pulled from their graves. One,the 32, I found out, was taken by a guy I know from a neighbouring town. His buddy is building a 31 and needed a few pieces. initially he came, flipped the car on end and took some pieces of the frame, then came back for the entire car. Whatever is left there is now buried under 18" of snow, but I'll return in the spring to see what else is back there

  3. That's why I never tell anyone what I found until I can say "look what I just brought home" ....

Well, as sad as it is that you weren't able to drag that 32 home, it's nice to know that at least most of the cars were drug out and hopefully put to use instead of being left to rot into the ground.

Yup. Had I known that was for the grabbing, I'd have most definitely made the six hour trip with a couple of stooge friends for the heavy lifting and snagged that.

Years ago, there was a back half of a 32 sedan in the slough bottom here in our local golf course. I dragged it out, and it had the rear half of the frame and spring still attached, as well as the sheet metal and garnish moldings. I 'gave' it to a guy who was building an A roadster as he wanted the rear frame horns to hang a tank from. I also told him about another A tudor for free. He sold off some of the deuce stuff and made a couch out of the body in his garage. Bear in mind this guy is kind of scary looking and can benchpress close to 300. I did this for him 25 years ago and he still does the odd 'favor' for me. Good karma, I guess.

Lots of people knew about this spot but I can count how many pre 1950's cars there are in our area, on 1 hand. There seems to be a HUGE lack of interest for the 20's, 30's and 40's cars and trucks around here. The only reason I didn't go back and fetch anything is my yard is bursting at the seams with 3, 1950's cars and trucks, 4 sleds, a ski boat and our 3 daily drivers. I don't even have room for some spare tires on rims.

My wife and I always venture off the beaten path and that is where we seem to find all the good stuff. There are cars*****tered through out the bush surrounding our town. Every time we go out hiking, we find a new stash of entire cars or just parts*****tered through out the bush

You could have brought it home and quickly moved it for some $$$ to help fund your projects...no?

I've already got a local**** hole by law officer hassling me about what I have in my yard. Unfortunately, I just couldn't make it happen.

Yep it doesn't matter if you are digging it out of the brush or buying it from a person or off the lot don't say anything until you have it bought or home.
