Dean's last film, Giant, was shot in and around the town of Marfa, Texas, and the remote, dry plains found nearby. Picture could have been shot around there.

Top photo taken at the SW corner of W. San Antonio St (US 90) and S. Yale St in Marfa TX.

The bottom photo taken at the SE corner of W. San Antonio St (US 90) and Edinburg St in Marfa TX.

Rather than Dean being distracted, he may have been thinking.. I'm at the end of town and after this there is nothing for 75 miles.

Now THAT is the face of unbridled joy and happiness.
That's what it looks like just before you do your first major faceplant - I hope it didn't happen.

This is the perfect photo for a cold and snowy winter day. Seen here is the Iceberg Service Station in Albuquerque, NM., which was run by Frank R. Fortenberry on Route 66. Note the polar bear on the roof at the right.

The photo is courtesy of Joe Sonderman who has a Route 66 photo collection that we have been posting in a series.

This is one of three press photos we have posted, are dated July 26, 1944 and show what designers in the Detroit area were working on at the time and what they had envisioned for post war transportation.

I never thought James Dean would be driving a 6-cylinder Chevy! A 180 hp Power-Pak would seem more appropriate for him.

Yikes, asking for one of these on e-bay is $70

Quite a return on a 10 cent investment

1955 Chevrolet 210 "Del Ray Club Coupe" They were a dressed up 210 model (middle priced) with carpet on the floors, vynal seat covers and headliner. It looks like this one had the mighty 235 6 cyl engine. :)
