    I have questions
When was the 1st one built?
    Street or strip?
Where did the trend start...SO cal as usual, or where?

    HRW,

    Nice car!

I used to live on Grand Island (back before it was all built up!). Your car, with the Schooler Cams lettering, is reminescent of a '55 that was campained out of the Tonawanda area back in '64 named the Flashy Gasser. Are you familiar with the car? Mine will be sort of a tribute (not exactly like) his.

Also, I'm in Erie. Where are you in OH?

It used to be a gasser, I aint sure when it got its set back but the previous owner said it had the engine set back when he got it. I dident want to change a thing so I put it back how it last ran. This pic was taken in 1978, turns out the owner of the local tire shop used to own it! This is the oldest pic I got of it so far. ;)

Does anyone know if this 55 has been restored. I kind of remember there was some pic postings somewhere. Dick M.

Look who showed up tonight at the year-end event at NHRA Twilight Cruise. This classic Southern California ‘555’ gasser of Stan Johnson has been in storage for the last 3+ decades. It's now part of the resurgence of rescued gassers of the past. Looking at this was like going back to the future. So way cool for us all.

Baron, I am primarily doing chassis and roll cage on this car for my friend Lonnie, (I may get a chance to race it once as well). I really don't have any excuse for not finishing my Olds.

Great wheel and tire combo. That pic needs to be in the torque thrust big and littles thread.

Just an update on my 55 gasser style build back on like post #649&650 After all the work we did we dropped from 14,40 ets to 12.50 et. I took the 660 holley center squiters off and installed 2 600 cfm edelbrocks (Afb's) Much nicer on the street. Since the last outing to the strip I've installed a roll bar, and a 250hp cheaterkit with a 125 hp set up in it. I also upgraded the whole fuel delivery system. I'm hoping to get her into the 11 second range. I've got a couple of you tube videos of our last outing you can catch if you search Doug Warren at lvms. Doesn't look too impressive up against an 8 second rail but I was loving it. Not sure about the NOS improvement but things start happening a lot faster when I hit the switch.lol Butt dyno feels real good. Srtip closed for winter. Don't understand it, nows the best time out here for racing. yruhot
