At the 1998 NSRA run in Spokane I spotted a Divco that was runing front wheel drive from a large GM. Either Olds Tornado or Caddie Eldorado. The GM wheels gave it away. Didn't get to talk to the owner but looked it over a lot. Very interesting build.

Nice truck! The Body on yours looks like my Model 134. I dont yet have the correct model year for my trucks. I recently bought a '39 Ford COE and it has the large 5 lug bolt pattern. I havent measured to see it they are the same although they look very similar. I need to contact the Divco Club for the correct info. I was told by the seller the one in my avatar is a '59 and my others are '65 model 347 and the third is a '59 model 300. I have some extra wheels but I wont be in Dallas until fall and probably drive the car instead of the truck. Here is a link to my project if your interested:

If that link doesnt work just go to that site and look in the project journals. Scroll down to 2manytoyzs journal and click.

Divco's are just cool looking no matter what. I have a buddy out in SoCal the did a resto of sorts on one he's had forever. His runs a straight 6 and he rhino coated the interior to match the outside color. Turned out cool and hid a lot of nasty looking rough interior metal.

I always thought a glass body divco scaled down to fit a s/10 chassis would be cool!!

Oh wow, way cool. Well, since I was on before I decided a Dodge Route Van might be more in my price range but they seem to be more rare than Divco. They only made them for 7 years & they made two different wheel base & three different body lengths.

Luckily, I found a real rough short DRV about 30 miles from my place. It was in a "no kill" junk yard out on a ranch & turned out I know the owner. A local guy here, Wayne saw my post I put on a forum saying I was liking for one & 10 minutes after my post, he emailed a pic with"this what you want?" So two days later I had it on my trailer & now I'm making room to start on it. It's rough looking but complete & has all its glass, only one window w/ crack. Good thing I'm experienced at "metal bumping".

Here's a picture of my buddy Perry's Divco after he did a restoration job on it. It has a straight 6 Chevy but still has a pretty steep gear in the rear so about 60 mph max on the freeway and she's topped out. He had the entire inside Rhino Lined that tan color which hid all of the imperfections. The DIVCO signs on the side are magnetic so he can remove them if he wants. The thing is a hit wherever he goes.

  26. My father worked for Divco in the 70's as the head body guy. He now restores/hot rods them for people. He is also getting into making fiberglass bodies and body parts. Not sure when he would be starting, but he has a guy almost finished making the molds.
