Congrats on a great looking starting point for a Tub. You seem to have come to the same realization as I did when the misses and I started talking about long term plans a couple of months ago. I really wanted an A roadster, but we started talking about little car-seats and the like. So the Buick Business Coupe left the garage, and I ended up finding an A Phaeton to replace it and scratch that roadster itch at the same time. Come to think of it, I think I was looking at the Tub that you bought back when...

I look forward to your's (and mine) coming along. Subscribed...

Well JJ you've pretty much got it down pat...........................you can string together a big round-a-bout rationalization for scratching the itch as well as any of us old timers.;)

You dealt with a good guy. Mehelich has been at this a long time and doesn't deal with junk (well, at least the way we see it, not how the "civilians" might view it).

Those heads and intake keep moving from project to project........come'on, I want to see them at work! I'm lookin' forward to this one goin' together.

Hahaha!!! I've been paying attention to you old guys. The wisdom I've gathered isn't so much in building these old cars but in how to obtain them ha!

The heads do keep moving from project to project and I almost got rid of the intake all together. I think I've got it nailed down this time though and they're going on the right car!

Thanks, same to you!!! Yeah top down spring and falls sound like a blast here in the South East. Summer time though will necessitate something with AC unless I can keep moving at 80mph the whole time. :D

For sure!! JadeIdol's tub is perfect! I'm talking to him via text asking him questions about these cars since I have much to learn. The seats are a point of concern which he's helping me figure out what's what.

Great score! I saw that tub advertised and thought about buying it....but you know what happens if you think about it too long...it's gone! Good luck with the project.

I think you did fantastic. I would rather have a Phaeton over a Roadster any day. The deuce Phaeton can be built into a beautiful ride with or without fenders. I like the black one you pictured a lot.

Good luck selling the stuff you need to move down the road. Look forward to an eventual build thread on your Aussie Deuce.

Not a bad way to start off 2013. If this ends up even half as cool as The Wizard it will rule the streets.

  27. Should be a nice tub..........for a bit of extra useless information........AMT made a 1/25th scale 32 Tub kit originally issued in the late 60's........a lot of US modellers complained that the rear of the kit's tub was not correct..........at least compared to a US 1932 Tub.............it trurns out that AMT measured up Dick Scritchfields 1932 Oz sourced Tub..................this kit has been reissued at least 5-6 times, the last time about 10-12yrs ago, can be built stock or rodded, also includes a chopped windscreen & FE Ford....the only hiccup is that the last reissue, black & orange on the box has the shorter interior tub from the AMT 32 Vicky & consequently its bucket seats and not the proper bench that holds the tub together............good luck with the build.........btw I think we aussies have got the lead tho' on imports now............lol.........andyd

Correct, the door handle on the inside is in the middle of the door. The handles on the inside were like the Truck or A bones, they had the screw in the middle. You can still find them out there if you dont have them. I think keeping the wood would be good to, but you build it your way :)

LOL you may be right :) I however still need a Xb or XC Falcon Ute, and a XB or XC Falcon Coupe to send over here!

  30. Jeffrey,

Congrats on the find AND the 2nd child!!! Having two is fun- you and Mrs. J can still go one-on-one with the kiddies. Mrs. Yankee and I have three now, so we've gone to a zone defense :D
