My 2 cents: During that time, I was working at one of the refinery's in Torrance,Ca.
At lunch time we figured 1 barrell of crude oil produced 52 by products & gas was just 1 of them.
Gas was usless UNTIL being "cracked" & refined, then gas was 27 cents a gallon in 1965.
We also figured that gas should NEVER retail higher than 35 cents per gallon, since it was a commodity that everyone needed.
Add OPEC into the picture, & that is the reason for such gouging at the pump today.
There is absolutely no reason for the USA to buy foreign oil when we have more sources here waiting to be drilled for.
In fact, so much underground, it would take 250 yrs. to make a "Dent" in the pools recently discovered in the Dakotas.
The sad part is the "Envirionment Crowd" always stopping any new drilling by Federal court injunctions.
A bad thing when the "Tail" wags the dog in our homeland.:mad:

I worked at a gas station in 73 and I can tell you for a fact that 2 closed stations here were being used as fuel storage areas. Many many night time deliveries and pick ups by tankers during this time. It happened again around 76-77 the same 2 closed stations were used again deliveries or pick ups 3 to 4 times a week at non operating stations and every one late at night on the outer edges of both towns.

Thanks, John. This computer doesn't have Chrome, so all I get with a right click is the basic "properties," which isn't much. BUT, others here can surely use your advice, buddy. Thanks again for the thought.:)

"TinEye" can be downloaded and installed as a plug-in in just about any browser.

That 59 Chevy is just awesome - great colour, great angle and it has just 'got it'.
Thanks for posting this great pic.
    Cheers.
