Hahaha!!! There has been talk of a third already but right now Man to Man is going to show whether our defense can handle their offense. :D:D:D

Yep, I really like that the rear doors are suicided. I think that's a nice touch and one of my favorite parts.

I'm probably going to ask more in depth questions once I start the build and I'll be asking them on Ford Barn too but just off the cuff, what's your experience with aftermarket stuff. Like the gas tanks and stantions/windshiled? Should I just try to find nice originals?

I do plan on getting original firewall and grille shell I think but I'm not going to be able to swing all original stuff I bet. The stantions seem to be very very hard to find original.

    Thanks again!

  3. JJ,I went with a original passenger car gas tank on the '32 pickup,I had it vatted and repaired a small pin hole,,2 weeks later I had another leak,,pulled the tank and fixed it.

Drove it to Knoxville,Tenn and developed another leak and I put a screw in the hole to get home.

I pulled the tank yet again and replaced it with a aftermarket tank,,I've been real happy for 7 years now,,NO LEAKS! HRP

Good info HRP! I only asked because the Ford Barn guys complained a lot about reproduction tanks and how they fit (along with the electrostatic fuel gauge) which.....I mean, who really needs a fuel gauge :D.

  5. I guess it depends on how good the original tank is,,the one on my sedan is original and I haven't experienced any problems with it,,the reproduction tank does have a extra hole for adding a separate fuel gauge for after market gauges like the old SW's. HRP

As a long time 32 Ford owner ... I have found N O T H I N G reproduction as good as the original stuff Henry installed on his cars. :(

Both my cars have original 32 Ford fuel tanks ... and I have no issues. BUT ... Tanks does make a nice 32 repro tank.
I used one on a friends HEMI Hi-Boy 32 roadster.

They come in the 11 gallon size ( original looking ) or a slightly larger one. We used the 11 gallon. Part # 32Z-S It looks just like a " Henry " tank but it is new. It was only $350 ... :D

And they make them in stainless as well. No corrosion problems ever. Paint the outside and it would look original. The purist would add the triangle brace plates first though.

Cool thanks!! Yeah I have a tanks tank on my '35 and it seems to be doing the trick. I'm going to use SW gauges so I really don't need an original but if one comes up that's nice, I can certainly check it out before taking the plunge on a repo. THanks for the heads up. Expect some PMS in the future!!! :D

Yep she is!!! I should have been a stylist instead of a designer. The hours are better and so is the pay.....but still not enough to be playing around with HEMI's. That's just crazy money. :D

    Very cool score JJ.

    I like tourers.

I'm trying to tempt dad into finishing this one now he has got his 5W sorted. we pretty much have everything needed for it so it wouldn't be a costly build. Just a cool local cruiser.

I'm also hoping that in 2013 he makes a decent start on this as a bit of effort and it could be done in a few month I think.

A couple of other Tourer photos, I have posted before but thought they were fitting to get your juices running. we all love photos.

Yes ... that is why I mentioned it. They do work great ... and the price is good. A original 32 tank is about the same money for a good one and you are not A N A L

  12. Damn! Congrats JJ - You'n Dustin are Tub brothers. That black Tub you put a picture up of is the most awesome ride ever.

Damn that thing is awesome!!! Seeing that drop axle up front makes me reconsider not doing it to mine because your dad's sits really nice so far. Very cool thanks!!!

I'm anal about a lot of things but a of right now I don't have an original frame and there are a lot of things that probably didn't come from the Ford factory. However, I do get Anal about it appearing as it once could have been if it were a hot rod back in 1941-46ish. No modern stuff with the exception of a dual pot MC will probably make there way onto this car unless it looks like it was built back then. So a repro tank YES! An Electric Fan Nope!

Yeah we're quitting the Iron Lords and starting a gang called the Tubby's....or the Tubby Clubby with a overweight Care Bear as the mascot. We're real bad asses.

Thank you so much for the help!!! I can't believe it went so smoothly getting here and tell Dave that I'll try and do it justice!!!

Uncle Max!!! I had two Chrome 97's that came with my intake but I just sent them off to OZ because I wanted a natural finish and when the time comes, YOU WILL DEFINITELY GET MY ORDER!!! The last ones I got are working awesome!

Now, when and if I ever get to my '33, I'm gonna need 4 81's so that's going to be a little trickier. :D

  20. Enough!!!!! In the last page there's talk of male hair stylists (or hair dressers as we used to call them), anal, and a Tubby Clubby???? Ewwwwwwwwwwwww.......

Absoutely Cool Ride! Duece Roadster mentioned Dick Scritchfields Aussie Phaeton, I remember the story in Car Craft when Dick built his car. I still have the articles and magazines. (a little on the well read side or worse!) Good Luck with your project! Can't wait to follow along!:)

Ha! You're the Devil.....do you take Lay-A-Way? Of course you do. :D

maybe so but if I do, I'll probably have to sell the chassis with the 5w. I do have a lot of the pieces to make it a roller though besides the shocks.

    I have...

    Frame
    Front spring
    Rear spring
    32 Axle
    '46 Columbia rear
    Rear Wishbones
    Front Wishbones
    32 Spindles
    Lincoln Front brakes
    32 Perch bolts

I'll need U Bolts, Kingpin kit, shocks, dog bone's for shocks, the rear end rebuilt and gone through, spring's eyes reversed, and the big ticket item behind those shocks, the TIRES!

Thanks again guys, I really am so excited.

I have looked at Paul's car up close many times. It was in the same shop Jeb works in when he was building my 36 3-window. Your's looks super clean. I'm always amazed that an open car can look that solid after all these years. It had to live inside most of that time.

PM me about your 5-window. I want to know about it.
