  1. I noticed that the real talented entertainers do not dress like pole dancers. I stlll like Jim Couche (sp). I think LeRoy Brown and other songs were ahead of the time.

Based on the old saying "She'd look good in a potato sack." The idea behind this publicity shot is that no matter what Marilyn Monroe wore she would look good in it. About 1953.

Neat color shot of a Kaiser Darrin prototype. This one has a split windshield...something that didn't make it to production, and also lacks turn signals. The car still exists.

We have a post up filled with photos and the story of early racer Chester Cheney. He started his racing driving for the Staver team (above) took quite a few wins and ran at Elgin in 1910.

Below he is next to the rail in this photo with Barney Oldfield in the Tornado and others. We are trying to ID the rest of the car and drivers. Check out the post as there are many more photos at TheOldMotor.com

Douglas Rambler was in Louisville, Ky. I bought a '54 Hudson there off of the used car lot for $225 in 1965. It had no rust and 47,000 miles. The car still exists in the Chicago area.

Wow, Gary! Packard Hawk! Can't tell if it's '57 or '58, though.

Looks like part of an ad shoot, such that there should maybe
    be more to the photo?

Hey, THANKS, Tennessee. :) I guess I was thinking about the '56 Packard-powered Stude Golden Hawk, and I just assumed there was a '57 PackaBaker Hawk too.:p

Shows I haven't scratched around the Studebaker files in a while, eh?
