We had to tip it up on it's nose to get it in my garage for now and when we did all this red dirt/dust (NOT RUST) fell out of it and I can only assume that it was all from Australia. Where ever it was located it was dry because the car including the wood is in really nice shape. I wish I could track the car back and see it being used back in the day in the outback!

I will PM you....but it's not pretty. Yet that is!

  2. JJ,have you ever watch the Twilight Zone?

The Lonely, filmed in 1959 staring Jack Warren, who was sentenced to 50 years of solitary confinement on a distant asteroid,,what did he do with his time,,,he rebuilt a 1932 Phaeton,,,red dirt?,,the one you have might just have come from a little further than Australia! Bawahaha! HRP

I had my heart set on a Deuce tudor sedan this year but this thread and the photos are quickly changing my mind. Rodger Bell built and Aussie model in the 70's that I still love. Are there a lot of them for sale in your area. We have Brookville that is making one but they are scarce and expensive in the USA.

Or Arizona! We have lots of red dirt and a couple of Aussie Pheatons have floated through that I'm aware of...

Jeffrey, Ill have to get the full story from dave again. It came from a importer from Galt, CA, I forget his name. I think dave said he was keeping it for himself or something like that.

Cool! Yeah that's be kinda cool to find out a little more. The images you posted when it was for sale were labeled B Motor****. So was it originally a b motor car?

Thanks guys! It's funny, a 5w has always been my dream car but now I can't wait to just get that thing the hell out of here!

Dreddybear, don't pretend like you weren't there. :)

    DR,

I absolutely agree with you on the original '32 Ford tanks. When I built my 3w, the original tank was the only piece of original sheetmetal that did not survive 4 decades of storage. I went with a steel 'exact' repo. With a little filing, I was able to get it to fit. I was happy until I really compared the body line crease in an original to the repo. No comparison. I was able to get a perfect original, and it is now painted and awaiting installation. It is a little tricky getting a pickup and and a float in one using the single stock hole, but I was able to have one built.

I may be the anal guy that was mentioned, but hey, it is my car and that is what I want and value.

I thought about it for a split second....then I realized I'm not nearly coordinated enough to drive it that way. :)

Gives a whole new meaning to the term "Hot Tub". I'm waiting to see where this goes.

Pure original parts always eat me alive lately on my projects. It makes a great car on the being pure original but man it's damn pricey.

I like your glossy black on black with fresh natural cast aluminum parts on the flathead. Reminds me of talberts 32', beautiful.

Good luck and congrats on the baby.

Yeah I hear ya! I bought an original '32 firewall a couple months ago for $350 and it's nice but pitted. When I got the tub home, I was like "um yeah I gotta find a cherry original along with a original grille shell". I know that kind of thinking is gonna get me nowhere fast. However, I think the car deserves it and I like me some original stuff when I can find it!!

    Thanks on both accounts!

Anyone split a '32 wishbone and still have the piece you cut off? I'm gonna try and unsplit a pair I have here. :D

I'll probably be showing some progress pics of the 5w before anything. I working on the doors and should have those in some molasses by the weekend. Then I'll reskin them while I'm saving up for subrails. But that's neither here nor there. I wanna work on the tub NOW!

  24. Your not selling the fiver?

  25. Although, I hate seeing a deuce leave the Northwest for any reason, I'm really glad this one went to a good home, I can't wait to see the finished family car. By the way, if your tub's is truly an Australian Model B Deluxe then it's one of 75 ever produced, along with Jade Idol's tub.

To help you get inspired for your build, here are some random shots I've taken of Jade Idol's tub through out the years

i'm stoked for you JJ. this car is gonna rule. i'm getting excited to see what happens.

  27. According to the Early Ford V8 Club of America the production was less,,,they say only 64 Australian Model B Deluxe were produced which really makes it rarer!

Regardless,,give or take 11 they are few and far between and I'll go out a limb a say not too many are in North Carolina! HRP

God I love that car!!! I'm so tempted to do it right hand drive after seeing these. Thanks so much!!! I really am hoping to get out there this year and hang with the Emperors.

Thanks Gow! I really appreciate it and hope I can do it justice. All I've ever wanted was a flathead powered wirewheeled car and even thought I love my '35 and will die with that car, this one is more my style....I think.

Sounds like a perfect candidate for a fenderless Hot Rod! :D:D:D

On a separate note, finding a title for this thing especially in NC is going to be a little tougher then I thought!
