Two of our members just literally dug a couple of cars out of the desert. They will be amazing if finished back to being drivable.

I saw on a couple of post about a HAMB'er down under that built his '39 coupe. What he started with was something I never thought would see the road again and it ended up a masterpiece.

Also, a couple of members just found a couple of buried cars.

Please shoe us some rides that started as 'basket cases' and ended up as beauties.

    Thanks
    Chuck

I reworded this to make it more understandable.

Let's see some cool transformations from **** to true artwork.

    thanks

Not as bad as some and some people think it's not very traditional but I built it for me and it was my first hot rod build.

Man... some of these are AMAZING!!! Hotrod-Wily to see what you started with is nothing short of artwork in the final product.

Bert, I love how you went 'chopless'

Darn!!! That's like raising the dead man. I love looking at hat kind of stuff.

I don't have the skills, but I love seeing old iron saved.

    Great job.

Here is my first street rod I built.....clipped it with 71 Monte front end, power cowl vent, air, pw, tilt, etc....

I paid 75.00 for this parts truck and decided to fix it instead of using it for my 53 I had bought the same day.

cool, BTW I was born and lived in Skyland just outside of Asheville when I was young.

I use to hang out at a small garage where Dave Marcis built his Super Bird Nascars.

I also use to watch Dale Earnhardt's dad Ralph run at AMS.

Holy ****. Those cars haven't just changed, they've evolved!

Mine seems to be heading the other way:

The work done doesn't show - but the body work is 80% done, the wiring is 50% done, it has a motor and a transmission, new front suspension, new rear end, new floors... Hopefully I'll be able to come back to this thread one day with an "it's finished" update ;)

  29. Well, I did this a couple years ago, then sold it. Cab from the first one, frame, axles, hood I picked up along the way. Had split bones, '40 brakes, '40 rear end, F1 steering and I included an F1 frame crossmember and pedals.

I used the bed off the one in the third picture, which was a cut-down I set part of a '28 sedan top on to see what it would look like. That hood went on, too, but didn't come with that pile.

Buyer wanted the plain grille, so that's what went with it. Crate is full of other parts.
