Chrysler used mirrors to visualize the different body mods by giving the car the illusion of the fronts and the rears of the cars being finished so they can see what it will look like.

This way it would give the designers the ability to have a completely different style on the other side of the car.

It's all smoke and mirrors just to get the design.

 

Don't know about the other two, but the '47 was a factory prototype and just recently was completely restored from an utter basket case dragged from the old Studebaker proving grounds. It had its debut at the national SDC meet this past summer, and will be displayed at the Studebaker museum.
