I did get mine off and my 216 is rusted solid. The pressure plate was the biggest PIA. Once that was off I was able to bend the retaining clips on the flywheel bolts (6) and remove the bolts. I used my 1/2" drive ratchet with a deepwell and 6" extension and hit the handle with a small sledge to break them loose.

Yes, the cab is pretty solid. Mostly the drivers side needs attention there at the cowl. The floors are pretty good. There are a shit-ton of small dents on the back of the cab.

Or you could always just lay it over on the side that way you can give it the gorilla treatment and don't have to worry about knocking it over, I did a couple like that.

Man, I didn't get much time to work on it this weekend. Was busy cutting wood for the shop woodstove:

I didn't mean cutting wood was a detractor from the project. I enjoy cutting, splitting and stacking wood.

That's my neighbor's 1 ton dump. It had a pickup bed on it and he took it off and built a flatbed for it.

  9. Yeah but I have no trees, my saw died, and the gas/time for me makes it easier to buy it! Using up pine beetle killed stuff here myself.

    8th Annual HAMB-B-Q is April 20th

I thought about using some Zero-Rust but I ended up painting it with the local farmstore brand. Took a whole quart!

I was looking for chicken prints... haha. Rhode island reds? Black sex-links in the background?

New Hampshire Reds and Black Ostralorp mostly. A few buff orphingtons and a brown leghorn. :)

  21. It's no fun unless you have to kick a chicken out of the way. Looking good!

Another warm day here. In the mid fifties, so I brushed some zero-rust onto the bottom of the cab.

I also got started on the open drive rear:

ZeroRust is a direct metal phenolic modified alkyd rust and corrosion control coating, which puts down an impermeable rust proofing barrier at the steel level.

The rear is out of an early '60s Chevy pickup I think. Got it for free from the HAMB Classifieds and HAMB relayed to my house.
