So cool to have your Dad's old ride, and a very cool ride it is! Wish my old man hadn't sold the '35 Ford Coupe he had in '59... You guys enjoy the ride, pun intended!!
Geez, I never answered your question about handles. Sorry. Here are the handles and windshield wing nuts like you will need.....
I would like to go to Symco this year. My father and uncle are finishing cars that hopefully make it in there also.
All of these appear to be the same as my '29 DA. I'm liking this rod more everytime I see it.Love the interior.
All of them should be identical except for the flat escutcheon on the '31 exterior handles....I believe the escutcheon has a curved base and not flat.
Like it lots,i love what your dad did with it in 59,with the trunk and just the overall look etc ,also what you have given it .WAY cool indeed. JW
what do you mean its not as cool as a ford. isnt it cool to have something different. what can possibly be done to a ford that has not already been done. you car is bad ***. be proud of that mopar brother. your dad had good taste. what more could you possible want. you have the all time ford *** kickin engine in a cool rarely seen body. nothing makes a ford guys **** go limp like a set of wide mopar valve covers. that engine has set so many records and continues to do so. any hot rodder knows when he wants to go hard core with his **** and make a statement the hemi is the only answer. your dad had vision early on. he knew the flat head days were over. pride in your ride will grow when you stomp some ford *** out on the street. hot rods used to be fun and fast. most of the cars out there now cant get out of their own way. they are just empty gutless shells of what guys used to build. might as well throw a flat head in a prius. you got some mopar there.
I love the hemi but I think the early fords had great style. That said I wouldn't trade this car for a 1932 ford 5 or 3 window. My Dad sold this car in 1970. I told my Dad then I would buy it back some day took Almost 40 years but I did it. I also own a model a with a 354 hemi and my son has a 32 ford 5window with a 392 hemi in it. I do think that this Dodge is the nicest early style dodge. Not a flat head guy at all had mostly Chevies before.
I didn't mean to offend anyone maybe I'm not saying this the right way but I wouldn't trade this car for anything and I have a 1932 ford 3 window
my first car at 15 was a model-a coupe. after a few years i saw the light. i have been a mopar junkie ever since. i do own one non mopar its a 66 chevelle. i had it in high school and was able to buy it back from the guys kid i sold it to 26 years earlier. too many memories in that car to let it get away just because it was non mopar. my kid has the mopar sickness to. so bad in fact he wont recognize the chevy as part of the family.
I guess I get my thinking about hot rods from my Dad. He thought the beach boys car was the coolest thing he had ever seen he wanted a 1932 ford 3 window ford couldn't find one. that car was his inspiration for the Dodge. He also thought that the American graffiti car should have had a hemi in it. I like this car it's just not the norm that's what I like about it. Sounds like your son knows a thing or two also.
my kid is more into muscle cars and all things that run on nitro and use a blower. his ride is a 500 ci wedge four speed dana 60 1969 super bee. it has a indy six pack and indy heads. the car flat out runs. he is also a team member on a record setting front engine nitro dragster.
yah he has his head on straight. he is in his third year of college now. going for automotive engineering. he was also the high school automotive national champion. he has the total car sickness.
Very cool hot rod bro. Love that you are puttin the cool Dodge back on the road, love outside the box rides. Nerf bars are great! Thanx for sharing this rare bird. ~sololobo~
Haven't posted anything for a while so her it goes. I was going to send out my nerf bars to get polished but decided to try it myself. A few sheets of sandpaper and a little polish and I'm glad I did it.
I finished the wiring and the brake and clutch wish I would have known about the Hamb when I installed the s-10 slave cylinder had a hard pedal checked the search options and ordered a slave cylinder for a 62 Chevy truck works great know. I took it for a ride around the block today made a lot of noise and realized I have a lot more work to do.
