Here is the end result, was it a barn find ? not really more an older resto.
I never thought it hadnt had any work done over the years.
What I was looking for was a car that hadnt been molested so I could build the hotrod I wanted.
Here is what I ended up with.
59a 100thou up merc crank thickstun intake 97s Edelbrock heads 39 box 48 gearset ,stock rear with 3.54 gears .
Lincoln style brakes by MT 3 1/2 dropped axle .
I did minor repairs on the passenger fenders other than that the paint is the same ,just polished it again and again untill it came up.
I have about 3000 miles on it since I put it back on the road and am enjoying every one. cheers David

That's what I plan on doing to my '32 5 window. MIld rake with a dropped axle, 8BA with Fenton intake and 3 97's, Eddie Meyer heads, 39 tranny with Zephyr gears, and juice brakes. Your's is an inspiration. I really like the colour too.

Glad to see a nice unmolested coupe end up in the land of Oz. You are one lucky guy.

You did a great job bringing that paint back. I thought it had been painted.

Is that a Juliano's steering wheel? It looks almost like the same one we're putting on our car.

After reading the entire thread for the first time, after all the highs and lows, it's great to see such a wonderful ending.
Your car looks incredible! Exactly how I envisioned it. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

Looks great, you did good! Amazing what you can do without cutting up anything.

I chimed in early on about what I would do, looks like you were listening... ;)

Hero status! Took an old, tired, resto and turned it into a VERY tasteful hot rod without damaging its heritage.

Reminds me of my post way back.... #51?

Well said! I couldn't have imagined it turning out any better. The car most certainly found an appropriate caretaker, and I for one am grateful to see it so well loved.
