I have all ways built a car on a certain theme or time period , Drag Racing 1950s 1960s 1970s . Salt Flat look , Dirt Track , Hot Rod of certain time period etc.

Yes they all fall into a "Hot Rod" but way to many styles and periods to choose from I love them all . I've been a drag racer my whole life so I tend to go into that direction. But I have to say the Gasser Theme is way over used today .

  8. if I had all my money that I've spent on Hot Rods I'd be Freakin RICH! :D

  9. I picked drag racing theme, I am not sure that I am a purest. I really prefer '60s street brawler. ;)

I would have picked kustom hot rod but I think that all hot rods are customs, just not that all customs are hot rods.

I went with the salt flats racing theme because I see a kind of "purity" about early salt flats cars. However, for me that's a tough choice between them and late 50's/early 60's drag cars. But then, kustom hot rods are kool and I also like dirt track racing. Damn, it's all good!

I do like 'em all. Guess if I had to choose one, it's be early '60s street/strip themed. Since that was the era, at a young age, when I became aware of 'hot cars'. A certain '57 and '61 Belairs made a hell of an impression on me.

The original salt and dry lakes cars are the ones that gave birth to what we know as 'traditional hot rods' in my opinion, and that style remains timeless!

60's hotrod. More freedom of expression. But in the real world, I like function over form. Regardless of the era represented.

Yep but painting a big number on the side doesn't make it a "salt flats car" just proves you are poser.

I like Hotroddin's suggestion on the first page. Build it well and stick to what ever theme you pick.
