Not that it matters, but Santas Village was in Scotts Valley. Located along hwy 17 before going "over the hill" to Los Gatos/Campbell/San Jose. I went to Vine Hill Elementary right across from Santas Village. My family lived in Scotts Valley from 1959 to 1974 on Glenwood Dr...Alfred Hitchcock lived up the road a few miles from our place....once in a while we would see his black limo go by our house. I remember a couple of upper classmen tried to get into his property one night thru his cyclone fence...turns out he had some Dobies on guard. Did'ent work out well for those boys.

Wow, looks like they just whacked the back off another cab and 'glued' it into place behind the existing one!

I used to live at the end of the street behind Santa"s Village. In the summer the constant blowing of the train whistle there would drive me nuts.

But early in the morning, when the deer were still browsing on my front lawn I could sit in my kitchen with a cup of coffee and watch Santa's elves marching to work from the bus stop down the street in full uniform, most toted a lunch box, but they did not seem to whistle while they worked...

I know this pic is a bit on the newish side but the gas station is cool, the dudes are typical SoCal dudes and there is a vintage trailer in the background. My best guess is this is near Palmdale, Ca around 1967-8

  20. Betty was an early proponent of women's health and fitness, and in 1961 she married Joe Weider who she knew from the fitness movement, and the two of them have worked together for many years. Betty and Joe together wrote several books on bodybuilding, and along with Joe's brother, Ben Weidner, co-founded the International Federation of BodyBuilders.
