im about to buy rear 11x2 f100 brakes off a ford 9in are the backing plates the same as the front because I want to put them on early ford spindles. Please help
I can't answer about the backing plates; but I found a 56 F100 in a local wrecking yard that had worn out front drums. I tried using the good rear drum from that truck on the front F100 hub, and the center hole was wrong. I think it was too small, not sure. anyways, back to the top
Probably the main difference in the backing plate are where the emergency brake cables protrude and the internal arm for the cable,,everything else is basically the same. HRP
No, the center hole is larger, the bolt pattern is bigger, it also has an E-Brake access hole in it. Depending on the year it may also have a recess at the center hole. The brake shoes are the same and I believe the wheel cylinders will bolt on but how much work do you want to do? Find a set of fronts to start with, you'll be a lot happier. The Wizzard

NO. Look at the center bolt pattern. It's not square. Now look at the early Ford spindle bolt pattern. Also notice the recess in the center I mentioned. The Wizzard
