I'm really keen to have a go at some fish scale design as a background. Can anyone suggest any books /links etc that talks through the basics of doing it. I've seen folks use small circular stickers to achieve the pattern and to paint it. I've got a new airbrush ready to use in anger.

Any ideas or a simple explanation on the process??

Thanks a million for the pics. Now make sense. I had thought of a similar thing so nice to know i wasn't too far of the game.

Any tips when doing it apart from getting it lined up properly?

Right then, off to find some suitable plastic to use (if thats what your using), make some patterns and go have some fun.

    Thanks again, really helps

edit ...........ftroop thats what i'm talking about :)

we just used drawing paper.if your doing it all day long, or a lot you may want to use plastic, put smaller panels like this you can use paper.

id definitely get it all lined up before attempting to do a panel

mine 91/92 (again painted by my uncle RIP) straight black and then the flames were metalic grey base, metalic black, pearl blue, pearl red and then the first coat of laquer had some of the blue pearl mixed in to liven the whole lot up :D
