SixGun, I contacted Gord and he said he had sold ScrapperII to some one up in Saskatoon and it is being raced back at it's home track, SIR.
Just pondering, wish there was a way to have a Inline racers reunion with cars old and new.I think it would be cool to see alot of these cars together in one place.
Thanks. A quick reflection: After a couple test n tune sessions at Milan we took the car to Detroit Dragway for its first race. Nobody new us from Adam and the regulars pretty much ignored us and the lights I was cutting in time trials. Somehow I made it to the Finals in Super Pro. The car was running mid-11s. I had to race a 440 Roadrunner. I had to spot him. Caught him in the lights! Pete and I laughed so hard we alomst died. Fun times!
Keep all of this writen some where. Beleive me, when you get older it is nice to have someone or something to help you remember all of the good times. In the past year I have been blessed to have found pictures of our racing days to help remember the stories.
Does anyone put on a yearly 6cyl or inliner only drag race event any where in the country? Or even just a 6cyl/inliner car show?
Does anyone know anything about the 1940 Chrysler Coupe in post # 320........nice wheelstand but even nicer engine.........would love to know more about the triple webered alloy head six........andyd
Mopar Man, We have been putting one on for the last few years over here in Phoenix (Flathead/Inliners) waiting to see if we will be open this year or not. There is the Mile High Nationals each year in Denver for Flatheads/Inliners. The Antique Nationals that were at Fontana but moved to Irwindale last year has several classes. There is also the Slantsix group ( Killerbees)that has races for the slantsix folks on both sides of the country aswell as a race in Vegas for M.AT.S. There is also a series that runs mainly out Washington and Oregon aswell. I know some of the Ha/Gr guys run with ANRA in Bakersfield too. As for car shows check with the Inliners International chapter near you.Rappin to Minden has always been a six cylinder show and last year we had our Convention in Carson City so there were about 80 cars in attendance.I think that there is a a big slantsix show up in the San Francisco area each year.
Like 300racr suggested, check in with the Inliners. A central Cali. chapter has an annual show/picnic in Lodi, CA. Is that near you? Back in 2000 or '01, I went to the Inliners national convention in Denver, where the Flathead/Inliners race was going on at Mile High dragstrip. I also went to their convention near Detroit back about '04, where they had some racing going on at Milan Dragway. Later, Kinky6
Yeah, When II had their convention in Detroit I volunteered to organize the drag racing part of it. Unfortunately besides me only a couple of other inliners chose to run their cars down the strip so time runs were all that was possible. Not enough participation for an eliminator. I would be willing to attend an all-inliner race, schedule permitting. It might be best to organize it through an organization like Inliners, which has international membership representation.

300racr- Thanks for all the info. I had no idea but it all sounds very exciting! Lord willing, I will try to amke it out to M.A.T.S. (in LV) this year for work & fun. Not sure if I'll have my slant 6/gasser finished & running by then but I'd still like to see all the action. I will keep my eye out for the Antique nationals events also.
Just some older pics of my car from a few yrs ago and a few of my some of the engine parts. More to come in the future though!
