HahahahHah, You'll be done before me :D
Tim, I had a friend turn me on to a Stack of "Starched" fiberglass sheets I'm gonna try, he got them fron a fiberglass roofing manufacture. I'm only going to inclose my Cowl and add a lip to my tire openings after I cut them. I've been collecting tools, chemicals and working on the "mold for the cowl, as I make more progress I'll post pics.

Sounds good Rocky , I'll watch for your updates, They should work good for ya, one of my jobs at work is makeing molds and casts ,when we make the fake trees, and large rocks I like to use fiberglass , plus a few years of fixing burnt broke Funny cars helps too:D a good mix for the resin is 11cc harder to 1 gallon resin, Although I mix mine hotter than that:eek:,,,,, Tim Jones

I wish i lived closer too Rocky The high was 20 degree's today:( Yeah Glass work sucks but I guess I'm kinda used to it, Sounds like it's gonna be in the high 40's this week , I'll beable to get enough heat in the shop to do my wheel wells this week,I hope:confused:, Did some work on the firewall ,needed to make a alum box to clear the steering pitman arm, Plus got to practice my alum tig welding:D, didn't come out too bad, still need to fine tune the box and add a couple pieces where it fits against the dragster body, Tim Jones

Well I got started on the inner wheel wells today ,though it didn't get warm enough to do any glass work, need it atleast 40 degrees outside to get the shop warmed up to a steady 70 or 80,,but still got them ready to glass up tomorrow maybe:confused: Had a couple strips of fiberglass shower wall liner lying around so instead of makeing panels for the wells,, I used them, lots easier , Plus poor ways for poor folks:( , Screwed some tin angles to hook them to the cut out body sections ,before glassing the seams, then mocked them up to the body to cut off any over hang, while i was out doing this my dog Buddy was in the house teaching his kids the age old tradition of chewing up my last roll of duct tape, when I went in to get it there was buddy and company, of course he had the look of I didn't do it they did:D , but dogs not being real good at measurements, Buddy didn't relize that a 1 foot tall pup couldn't get up on a 3 foot tall ledge to get it down:rolleyes: So Dad got the ass chewing:),,,, Tim Jones

Not much to update, Temps didn't get warm enough to try any glass work, Got the mateing surfaces ground so it all holds together like it should, and got the wheelwells attached with the tabs and screws , really to glass up tomorrow, Suposed to be 50 degrees , plenty warm enough to heat up the shop, Tim Jones

I'll go with you Tim, to Eagle Field. I'm sure that our T/F experience should make run it! I've got a few pals that run out there that could keep an eye on us too.

HA HA I admire your enthusiasm Justin,, But I think these flathead motors don't give a dam how many fuel cars I worked on:(, They like the nitro motors are a completly diffrent animal:confused:,, I think of them as the Dirty Harry of the engine world , just an old motor sitting there in the frame rails ,saying come on punk ,do ya feel Lucky, Show me what ya know:eek:,,,, Tim Jones

Got time to weld up my add on to the firewall , Had to add a small kick out to clear the pitman arm bolt , welds came out fairly well , I still want to get better tho, took off the tabs after work and cut off the over hanging fiberglass, good thing I got the main parts of the fiberglassing done , normal midwest weather down to 5 degrees tonight and cold for the rest of the week, At least Now I can start doing the tinwork on the body,,,,, Tim Jones

When I orignally picked up the fiat body I was go to fit it on the Funny Car chassis an run it as a fuel altered also, but after seeing the comp coupes on here I decided to just leave the Satelite body on the funny car and use the fiat on the dragster, I was hopeing to use most of the tinwork I had fitted to the body already but ended up makeing new side panels and trimming the back panel to fit the dragster chassis, I welded a strip of 1 inch angle Alum to the side panel to keep it from sagging where it meets the dragster body, I haven't bolted the alum tinwork to the body yet, but here's some pics of the progress so far, Tim Jones
