Chris , I hear what your saying but never assume anything when its an OS car.

here's two photos ( can't say I take photos of my pedal assembly that often!) and its a V8 car. You can see their the same.

We just did things 'different' over here that's all, like the wood and the interior door handles etc. We weren't up to speed with you guys.

Yeah I'm not ruling it out if I can find the parts. I just had some concerns about it. Thanks so much for the info!

Awesome!!!! Thanks so much man, I really appreciate it! Hell yeah you can have a ride. I'd like to drive this thing out to Bonneville when it's finished.

    Thanks! I hope so!

Yep it's just 1.5 miles from my house so I usually can swing out to see you guys off. Always some eye candy to see even though you guys are way out of my league. :D

Thanks for all the info and great advise guys!

  6. JJ,, that's what's great about this bunch of Deuce nuts,,there are no attitudes, all '32's are welcome real Henry or glass,,high buck or low buck (like my truck) finished or unfinished,,we always have a good time. HRP

Just look at the photo ... painted, primered, fendered and Hiboy. Real Henry steel, some fiberglass and a Brookville or two :D :D

If your 32 is not ready, maybe you can hitch a ride with someone doing the run SOLO.

  8. Yeah, not a lot but I have seen a few empty passenger seats. HRP

  9. Great looking car!!!! I would trade my roadster for a phaeton in a heart beat.

Run yet? Ha!!! Probably quite a ways from that. I'm actually switching gears a bit I think. But still very excited to work on it starting next year however I might have to sell my Ionia Frame with the 5w right now to make all these plans work.

    Anybody wanna buy a hybrid 5w? :D:D:D

Thanks fellers, I keep you guys posted if I get anything in parts wise.

  12. Hey JJ, if you do end up going RHD, I know of a set of RHD '32 pedals in the US, as I was originally looking for my sedan, but am now using the Ionia X member instead of the stock K member. Now if only I can find a set of RHD '39 pedals....

Lately when it comes to flatheads, it's been Kelly. He's obsessed with them....

Chris,I had that about 15 years ago and it was super nice and lots of NOS goodies on her. I save a few for my next one if I ever find her. The 33 pheaton is moving slow . I put a early 283 in her 39 trans juice brakes but couldn't fit a fan on it so pulled it out for a flatty:D. Now I am sick of her and waiting to unload her now for something else:D

This is cool!.. Having two kids (and one more on the way) I understand wanting this car. Best of both worlds.

darn. thanks for the heads up

  22. It's so! It went north!

But I have it on good authority....it's in very capable hands!

  23. so what are the new plans???? Damn this thread really made me want one of those!!

  24. Since he's in the air right now (literally...on the way GRNS)

He's concentrating on the 33 coupe and little things on the 36. As far as a family.....he's got a backup! :D

  25. I'm never jealous of someone else's car...... but this one is different. And it's not just a "'32 phaeton" thing for me. It's THIS '32 phaeton.

If I hit the lottery, this is the car I'd pay stupid money for.

I hope it went to a good home.

    JH

  26. ^^^Trust me, it couldn't be in better hands!

  27. Man,I was hoping to see JJ build this one. HRP

Well here's the update. It's not sold yet, no money has changed hands and Mel may want to find something more complete at the price point. I have a dollar amount that I want for the body and I am not going to let it go for less so if Mel doesn't want it then there will be others or I'll keep it.

As much as I love the car my thought process was this, it was going to be quite a while before I get to the car seeing how I have my 33 I'm building which I like a whole lot more and couple with the fact that it's a relatively expensive car to build it might even take longer then even I thought (kids will get older). Then there is the fact that it's a car intended to take my family around in (not a car I often would drive probably), which is also a roadster (fair weather car) and now it was starting to seem like I was gonna pump all this money into a car that might get driven once a month....maybe? THEN another huge reason for getting rid of it is I took ownership of the SERET Sports Car which is going to take a considerable amount of focus, funds and patience. Truth is I'm in the business of building and driving the cars that I have and NOT in the business of storing them like a museum piece. At least that's the way I would like it to be. So if I don't see myself using the car like I intended then I have no reason to store it. While it is a car that will be hard to replace, I honestly don't plan on trying to find another down the road. I have a '54 Chevy that will be much cheaper to build and will probably serve my family in a much better manner then the phaeton will.

These are things I probably should have thought about prior to buying but at that time, I DID need a family car and I didn't have the SERET to think about. So I can't say it was a waste of time.....but as I stated before it's not technically sold yet so who knows what will happen of it.

Anyone want to trade 5-10 acres of land in North Carolina for it? :D
