    Michaelson-Bissonett-Nelson AA/GD about 69-70 at Minn Dragways.

Ran pretty well with the Midwest All Stars from KC.

Destroyed in a highway crash and fire.

The cage was salvaged and built into the new car called "the Black Car". We couldn't come to an agreement on a name so it was just the black car.

A couple of Anglia's running out of Jack Merkel's shop. Circa 1969 New York National speedway. Jack Merkel worked at S&K Speed shop in Farmingdale NY for a short time in the late 60's hence the "slash" with S&K written in and Jack Merkel whited out.

Not in motion, but still, one of the greatest and most fearless drivers of all time, when Garlits admires you, you are the best!

Dennison, Arlasky, and Knox, think they were from Illinois, maybe with Ron O'Donnell in the seat...

This car became the basis for Ron Pellegrini's first Mustang funny car when he founded Fiberglass Limited.

I don't think I would go as far as to say Gar admired him. In fact,in light of the boycott Gar instigated against him after he qualified for top fuel eliminator at Indy,I tend to think it was more the opposite.

This was the car that would venture out west once a year at Smokers meet and cream the west coast guys for AA/FA class honors. Efforts to get them to match race Pure Hell was long touted but never a materialized.

Blue Angels were tough UDRA guys. The car in background is Bob Drag Chutes with Chuck Kurzawa at the helm.

Also note the drivers hand placement on the steering seems rather too loose and relaxed.

I have a CD of this very car making a run at Pomona. Man, when that ring slot finally opened, car came to a quick halt.

They were tough, Gary Biggins driving, won PHR meet at Martin. And that's actually Butch Bryan in Bob's Drag Chutes car, Chuck would drive it later. Bob Farmer standing in his wagon.

Garlits admired Willy as a driver, you're right about the boycott, but if I remember right, it was more against NHRH for letting the fuel altereds qualify than against Willy...(yes, Willy had his personality quirks, he could be stubborn and hard to get along with, which is why Mousie broke with him on the funny car deal, but he was one hell of a driver)

Another from Paradise Mesa, not sure if this has been posted before, but with 1726 pages I am losing track. Dragster in front is Bean Bandit's, think that the #23 '35 Ford coupe is the Drifters from Redondo Beach...they are the topic of another HAMB thread.

Another Paradise Mesa, according to one blogger, the 5-window was raced by Skip Hess...not sure, but guess that it might be the same Skip Hess of the Shores & Hess Anglia gasser...anyone else know?

Hi ...296ardun... the 35 white 23jr coupe belonged to the Drifters from Redondo Beach. If this is a 1954 picture the Millwinders 36 red coupe #96 should be around somewhere... Nes
