Does anybody know if there are any in depth books out there regarding the Buick nailhead engine, and more to the point, hints, tips and secrets on "hopping" them up, and what set ups work best on them. i know plenty have been written on the subject regarding the small block Chevy, but cant seem to find anything on nailheads.
Oooh, cool. I wonder if the coverage on nailheads is extensive, or if its a subject skipped over in favour of later engines.
I'm working on a 322 build and do***enting it on my website. Not much there yet but here's a link to my research page which has several links to online sources. I haven't run across any books strictly on nailheads tho' http://www.laroke.com/larryk4674/2012/nailhead1.htm
Cheers mate, i had a quick look, and bookmarked it. Looks like you've am***ed some great research there. I got all of my new engine parts for my rebuild on ebay, couple of companies that are good who i used, one is old-parts source, and the other is a company called falcon global. Both have shops on ebay, and are reliable.
If you buy that book directly from Russ at Centerville Auto, you will then get the updated book with all the errors fixed. And as an addendum to that book, here is tech directly from Russ on his site: http://nailheadbuick.com/tech-info Russ also contributed to this article: http://www.enginebuildermag.com/Article/81904/nailing_down_the_buick_nailhead.aspx
